Counting the days to next year. Just posted some first weekend shots for viewing at www.pbase.com/galleries/jlbrock. Live for the music and the great shot. Brings it back.

Nicely done. Thanks for sharing.

We seem to have been in mostly the same places first weekend. Cool.

Excellent shots! But that B & W of the kids running through the misting tent from 2005 is still my fave.

Traditional second weekender, first time first weekender. Terence's set was spiritual - total highlight. Gillian Welch a gem. Bonnie Raitt, Jon Cleary and the band were smokin' Sonny tore up the Blues Tent. Missed Van, Norah Jones and Rod Stewart. Too packed. Would love to get a photo pass for next year. It was a blast.

Thanks for the kind words, ScoopJohnD. Photoshop is a great thing as the original was far less interesting. Cheers.

Wow... great shots! Thanks! I was back by the track during Bonnie and couldn't even see the screen, but the sound was great back there, so I was really glad to see those shots, especially... but LOVED the shots of Sonny!

Thanks you so much for the kind words (and Trixie for the NOKAS correction, which I have since updated). I am passionate about getting a great shot (in many ways, a frustrated musician who channels that creative excitement into trying to capture a moment, if I’m lucky). These posts inspire me to keep working at it - I have much to learn about understanding light and the camera, but have been around bands and gear and clubs since I was 12. Hopefully, some of that comes across. Couldn't crack the edge of the Gentilly throng to check out Norah Jones, so opted for the Blues Tent and Sonny tore up the place. Seen Bonnie Raitt many times and her, Jon Cleary and the band were absolutely smokin'. As traditional second weekenders, and first-time first weekenders, it was our best Fest yet. Cheers.

I take alot of pics myself, and like you have much to learn but boy when you get a good one it's one helluva feeling.

Keep it up! (Now I gotta break out the ol Nikon again.)
