This is a standout gypsy punk country band from Shreveport, worth discovering. A slightly hillbilly Morning 40 Federation.

I am not ever, ever, going to see a band called Ringworm. Nope.

A couple of years ago I did some computer work for Lane Bayliss (drummer), he was expecting this new band over for some practice. He's been at the center of the Shreveport garage and pick-up band scene for many years, bands like "The Hubcaps" and "Uncle Betty", all very good and entertaining, but nothing new for me. Then this "new" band filtered in and started to crank it up. After I picked my jaw up from the floor I knew these guys were more serious about what they were doing than I had ever seen from them before.
They say it's "A Dose of Gypsy Punk Country Grumble Boogie". I call it stanky. I love it. Their CD is very good, pick it up.
I'll be seeing them tomorrow at the Mudbug festival. WOOHOO ! And I'll have my bean can at hand. It's kinda like a redneck rugulator :)

With 4,000 votes and an earned spot on the main stage at this weekend’s Voodoo Music Experience in New Orleans, Dirtfoot lead singer Matt Hazelton would like to give the band’s fans a pat on the back for their support.
“This is going to be such a beautiful experience for us. This is our home state, and we’re more excited about this than anything we’ve done so far,” Hazelton said.
The Shreveport band was one of 10 finalists in the Artist Revolution online competition, which asked voters to decide which band would play the Saturday slot at Voodoo. However, because of discrepancies with some online votes, a panel unanimously decided to give Dirtfoot the spot. Fans’ online votes were taken into consideration by the panel.

Thank, you AtP and others that got them to VF. I should have reported in on their set at Red River Revel. They opened before Cowboy Mouth, one of the biggest crowds at this festival. They have a big and growing following now.
The were rowdy and too much fun, but they do better at a club where the crowd is a little more, well, loose.
My friiend Cricket came in town for the week from Santa Fe to exhibit and sell her jewelry and got up front, she's buddies with these guys. I was back a ways, some guy literally crawled over her tiny body to get a bean can! She kinda freaked on that, but it turned out OK. How was she to know? At least she's not a Dirtfoot virgin anymore.
Hope they are well recieved and keep your eyes and ears on these guys, folks. Wish I could be there :(
