Does anyone know if the Voice of the Wetlands show at Howlin' Wolf was taped?

I sure hope so. I was at the show before A.Toussaint/M. Ball. If I could have stayed up I would have got that show too.

This isn't a bittorrent, but there was a group at a bunch of shows doing soundboard recordings. They charge a bit for the shows, but they have "partner artists" who I would imagine are getting a slice of the pie for these shows, so that's a good thing. You can buy either MP3 or FLAC formats.

Here's what they have up so far...

hey, it aint no thing for me. we all owe a HUGE debt of gratitude to the tapers and seeders for hooking this up and making it all happen. i dont tape because i am not willing to make the sacrifices a taper has to make (going early, staying put the whole show, etc) - so I really appreciate those that sacrifice their time and money to hook the rest of us up with great music...

THANKS TAPERS AND SEEDERS!!!

HELP, BitTorrent Gurus!!!! :(

I may not be doing this correctly (and the Help FAQs are not terribly helpful - and I'm a tech person!!!) - but when I am trying to download the Batiste tribute from Dime via the BitTorrent client, I get the following error message:

"Aborting the torrent as it could not connect to the tracker while not connected to any peers"

I've turned off my firewall, what else do I need to be doing that I'm obviously not in order to create a peer-to-peer connection (as that is what I'm taking from the error message that I need)???

HELP, BitTorrent Gurus!!!! :(

What bittorrent client are you using? If I may make a suggestion I think you should install the latest version of uTorrent (http://www.utorrent.com/).

If you have a router, you need to make sure and forward a high port (i use 50666) to the IP address of the computer you are going to be running the BT client on. If you dont have a router, and your computer is hooked directly to a cable/dsl modem i would NOT recommend that you simply "turn your firewall off", as you open yourself up to all kindsa IP scanning nastyness...

Well, I had installed BitTorrent (as per Festingator/Bryon's advice) - I just now downloaded Azureus and will try that one.

I have a DSL modem and a wireless network (so no direct connection between laptop and modem/router), and quit my AVG firewall all the time when downloading things (as it can interfere with that process) - I do turn it back on when done however and I've never had any issues or bad adware/spyware come though . . . I'm VERY careful to create restore points in my XP and use AdAware as well as Spybot and RegClean to keep things running smoothly.

If the Azureus doesn't work, maybe I'll try the uTorrent client that you've recommended.

aardy90210
05-29-2007, 02:40 PM
good luck. different strokes for different folks, but i have found utorrent to be a lot better than azeureus was...never messed with the other client that was recommended to you, but i imagine that they are all about the same...i just found azeureus to be a little too processor/memory intensive, and utorrent doesnt seem to buttrape my system resources as much...

since you said you have a wireless router, have you forwarded your bt ports as I recommended??? If not, or if you are a bit sketchy on the process, this website has some pretty decent directions that are manufacturer specific to help you through the process: http://portforward.com/routers.htm

Captain Coconut - Live in New Orleans - JazzFest LateNite (2007-04-28) - HOT FUNK
http://bt.etree.org/details.php?id=507067

info:
"Captain Coconut is a razor-sharp, seven-piece band from NYC playing fresh, original funk music. This is the band’s second show in New Orleans. During JazzFest 2006, they opend for Bill Summers’ “Wade In The Water” band at the Blue Nile Club. They returned to NOLA again this year thanks to John Swenson, Marc Stone, and the folks at Rotolo’s. Captain Coconut plays all around NYC and was thrilled to be surrounded by the kind people and the fantastic music, food, and culture that makes New Orleans what it is. LONG LIVE NOLA!"
