I am so happy you posted these Jenn, I rounded the corner at the grandstand on my way to the Allmans, took one look and decided the steps at the Zatarains cabin would give me a peek at the video screen, so climbed up and enjoyed the boys from there. I thought it was Susan Tedeschi singing The Weight. They did a great set...
Sound was actually pretty good, which I can't say for anything back of pole L7 at Acura. I hope they can figure out how to power Acura sound to the back, as the Congo stage is overpowering.
But what a fest!

ABB sounded great, Greg is just getting better, Derek Trucks (WOW)
and Susan Tedeschi really nailed The Weight. I'm currently sitting in the airport, listening to the CD..

Did anyone but me think that Gregg looked a little "frail"? We were up pretty close & while he was in fine voice, he is verrrry thin And stumbled once getting up from the keyboards...

I was too far away to see... He is only 59 years old, but there's a lot of miles on that body...

Yepper, must be the mileage. I noted that Vance Degeneres (with Cowboy Mouth *see pic taken the same day on the meet-up thread), who is 53 looks exactly like he did when he played with The Cold in the early 80s! - freak!

Wow Jenn, excellent pix - you were so close! I was sorry we weren't there for that but looking forward to seeing them in Newport this summer.

God Bless handicapped scooters. (I guess). Anyway, next year, if you want close-ups of BNA's, get with me.
All that aside, I LOVED this set & Cowboy Mouth before them! Besides Bonnie Raitt & Bob French, it was my favorite 3 hours of fest!! :)

I think to quote the brothers its The high cost of low living,or is it the high cost of "high" living in Greg's case. Still can belt those songs out.

How was CBM @ The Howlin Wolf?

Howling Wolf show was good, but I would say the Tips show was the best of the week. Of course, the Tips show was my first in a few months, and by Wolf I was tuckered out from Fest. But I was still up front rockin' out!
Anyone else disappointed they didn't play a new song at all during Fest? I know they have some, and they have played them at a scattering of shows. I really expected a big hometown debut of something. :(

Hmmm, I love Tips, but it gets (and was!) so crowded for CM! More room to move in Howlin Wolf, though it was more of a struggle by the 3rd Fest CM show :) It was the FIRST fest in 10 I've seen CM at the fairgrounds (we always used to go second weekend) so I didn't even think much about the songs, just loved it, and I don't think I've ever seen a bigger CM crowd! Next sighting, Crawfish Fest :)

Amy don't worry if Jim's Mom, YaYa, shows up next to you for Cowboy Mouth. She loves the the young boys. I have a feeling she is going to love Fred.

Those are great pics! My only ones of the allmans are from the back of the track... that's what we get for our FOMS.
