OK, I wasn't there but watched in on the simulcast. I would guess that was one of the best performances in the history of Jazzfest. If the Nevilles can't be the closer, perhaps it's time to turn over that honor to Harry from now on.

I thought he was freaking fantastic!! I knew some of my threadhead buds were at the Wild Mags and had every intention of heading over there but Harry swept me off my feet. Thought I'd get bored with the big band sound but he was a blast.....dancing and cutting up. (And let's face it, damn he's gorgeous.) I'd love to see him close Fest again. He did a really cool encore where he came out alone and played a song on the piano and then began to play piano w/ one hand as he pounded on the top of the piano with the other, then he began to drum on the piano with both hands with a cool beat, working his way all the way around it....finally came all the way around to where he started and was stomping his feet to the same beat till he landed at the organ.....WAY cool!!

Oh shutup! Loved him.....waaaaay more than I thought I would. Jimmy and Paul were laughing at me and the other girls cause every time Harry danced we were such oinkers. So was every female around us. He was just adorable.

Same thing happens with women when I dance. Oh the burden Harry and I carry. It wears on you, it really does.

I meet Benny Grunch at Ye Olde College Inn last Saturday, he was having dinner with a guy from NJ, who Mr. Blanchard sent me over to meet - just cuz he was from NJ. Benny was going to go out to his car and give me an autographed cd after they finished their dinner, but Nick's girlfriend didn't want to wait around, so I thanked him and had to leave :( Benny always cracks me up big time... the King of Yat's!

yea u rite...harry was smokin.....and so was his band....
that tune where paul barbarain sings from on top of the piano...
and harrys respect for booker and pops......
and his piano playing was great as well....the feeling in the crowd was
awesome....it would be great if they could have him close
every year...was a great last day at jazzfest..
but i have some suggestions for the jazzfest impresarios...
give someone of harrys stature more time on stage...
they gave the allmans 2 hours....harry got a little more than an hour..
i mean harrys a native, grew up playing all around town...
after the levees broke he was right back in new orleans in a boat
rescuing people.....
helped start the musicians village,
and raised money during his
broadway shows for new orleans...and supposedly while he was in town
for jazzfest he was painting houses...
also the sound at the congo square stage was was way way too loud,
and at certain spots at accurathe sound from the congo stage was louder than harry...
