How was ZZ Top at the Fest? I have seen them a couple of times over the years and always thought they put on a good show. Just wondering if they played the hits or maybe funked it up a bit for the fest?

They rocked, as usual. As the waters parted, the Lil' Band from Texas opened with T-Bird, then Francine, Waitin' for the Bus, Jesus/Nationwide, Pin Cushion, Bang Bang, Cheap Sunglasses, 2 Trains, Pearl Necklace, Just Got Paid, Pressure, Gimme, Sharp Dressed Man, and Legs. Encore was La Grange and Tush. They had to drop "Let's go Get Stoned" due to the weather. I know, because I was standing next to their sound man, who gave me the playlist as a souvenier. They didn't miss a lick, and whom ever the previous poster heard from was obviously not there.

I heard it from someone in line for iced tea today. If you don't agree, take it up with them.

Wish I could have been there.

Agreed...why spread rumors that they were drunk? The set was very tight and they got a terrific review in this morning's Times-Pic.

I'm sitting in the hotel room about to get in the shower so I can go out to eat. I'm starving. Then I think I am going to see Trombone Shorty at 1.

So glad I came back for them. After the r@!n, we left to go back to the hotel room, get dry, took a nap, then back for ZZ. We almost blew it off, but then I said to my husband, get up and let's go. So glad we did.

That's another set I hate I missed! We left, wet & cold about 3pm, went home & cooked crawfish monica for 18 of our friends. (and sausage balls, and a relish tray & cheese & crackers, and a sausage/apple/vidalia onion appetizer.) It was a nice way to finish our 2nd Friday! :)

That was one of my favorite sets at fest. Loved them.

Just got back from N.O., I was @ the Acura Bayou friday, ZZ Top did rock. I also had a good time working at the Diamond cutters, tent that morning and meeting some thread heads, wish I could have made a meet up. o well always next year....
I heard they were drunk, and they rocked.

I had a ball at ZZ Top, thought they sounded great, hung out with a fun bunch of drinking, singing, dancing Canadians and had a ball. This is one of the VERY few times I have ever visited "the big stage" for a BNA, and I was NOT disappointed!

They were awesome! Really topped off the crazy flood day Friday. If they were drunk--which I doubt--it only made them better!
