Can anyone recommend some good restaurants around the Maple Leaf part of town? heading there on 5/3 and wanted to get something good to eat beforehand.

Good lord, Jacquimo's is right next door and it is one of the best restaurants on the planet, IMHO! Get there early..the place is popular!

jacques-imo's is the popular place there and right next door to the maple leaf. I called them the other day and they said they still have reservations available thursday so you may get luck as it's a busy place, especially for jazzfest.

They don't take rese's for parties of fewer than 5 but hopefully it's not to crowded after 8pm Thurs.

Oh, it will be, but the turn was moving right along last night. Full up, too. Someone was even eating at a table in the back of their pick-up truck parked out front! There open until 10, 11 on the weekend, so you'll get a seat eventually. Depends on how close you want to be. Brigsten's is nearby they ain't too shabby, either!:cool:

Zachary's is very good also. couple blocks up from Maple Leaf. Creole. If open check here as well. Haven't been for three years but it was excellent and very down home..
i've heard dante's kitchen is good too ... right across the street from brigtsens

Zachary's closed down
I am not sure if another restaurant has reopened there yet, post-K
