View Full Version : How do I go to "First Unread Post"?
On other forums similar to this, if I am logged in when reading, there's a link for each thread to go to the first uinread post. So if there's a 6 page thread, and I've read the first 2.5 pages, I can easily pick up where I left off.
Is there such a thing here? It makes it so much easier to read busy threads.

Let's see...
When yer get to the first page that lists the threads, there is a little blue box to the left of the thread title on any thread that has new posts. Click on that and it will take you to the first unread post on the thread.
You can also click on the thread title to open the thread. Look up above the post window. There a link with the same little blue box that says View First Unread.
There's also a New Posts link on the main menu. I haven't used it yet so I don't know quite how it works.

Has anyone figured out yet if clicking "next thread" at the bottom will take you to the place you left off in the next thread, or all the way to the beginning of the thread?

Looks like it takes you to the beginning.
Still checking it out though....
Hmmm... it also looks like the same even if you start with the New Posts button on the menu.

when you click the little arrow, it only takes you to the end and not where you left off huh? Bummer.

Weird. The "First Unread Post" isn't in the upper left when I open a thread anymore. I don't think I did anything to eliminate it. I am logged in. Any ideas??

I've discovered that when I use the Previous Thread/Next Thread option at the bottom the First Post button is not there. For lack of an easier way, I go back to the thread list after I read the posts and use the little blue box beside the thread title.
Has any one found a better way?

Due to unbelievable work schedule and volunteer committments, I have gotten a real late start with the new board. But thanks to your pioneers who are figuring all this out, it is saving lots of time to get up to speed. Thanks corona, cbh, jk, etc! :D

CBH, that's exactly the way I've been doing it. A few extra clicks I suppose but still pretty easy.
