There's one at the Fairgrounds. I've never been able to find it, but it's called the Fais Do Do cam, so I assume it's near Fais Do Do stage.....

In the past it's been to the right of the Fais Do Do stage near the path to the track.

Look for the plywood cutouts of an gator and an accordion player.

ok...i'm a first weekender and i'm stressing here! i bought my flags and i can't find a 20 foot fishing pole or any pole that's that tall! what am i gonna do? i found a 'crappie' (some sort of fishy fish) pole that's 16 foot, but he said it's not really stiff....help!

There are some flag shops in the Quarter and elsewhere. I'm sure others will help out with the locations and you can get a windsock pole or something there! (Just be sure it's not metal.)

Depends on what you want to spend, but some PVC pipe is stiff enough and you can cement a couple of pieces together to get the length. Try Lowe's or Home Depot.
Really expensive way is to get a telescoping surveyors yardstick. Should go high enough. Costs a pretty penny.:cool:

Linza, apparently there is a kite shop in the shops along Jackson Square in the Quarter that sells some kind of poles. Also there used to be a hardware store on Bourbon that might help as well. Not sure if it's still there, or where on Bourbon it is.

Just confirmed the hotel and flight. Going to Fed Ex our clothes and personal items in a while, going to the bank, giving medical permissions to the friends and neighbors for the kids left at home (hee-hee). Head to the airport after getting the kids off to school Fri AM then off to Dulles for our flight arriving in time for the last 4 hours of first Friday.

I am so excited, this is our 25th anniversary gift to each other and I can't wait to be his partner for 3 days of music and new friends!
