any info on dresscodes would be appreciated. I'm assuming most nice restaurants have a no jeans/tennis shoe/t-shirt policy for dinner, wondering how strict for lunchs and wondering if house of blues or tipitina's have dress codes? thanks

No dress codes, whatsoever for any of the clubs. Very few restaurants have strict dress codes and even these tend to relax during fest. I have seen nothing dressier than khakis & a polo shirt at most nice restaurants and have certainly seen more casual dress at the same establishments.
It's usually hot & humid - be comfy!

I've seen Emeril's stick to a Jacket for men dress code - but that's about it!

Dahlin' it is Post Katrina...
I've been to Emeril's during 'fest and had no problem with jeans and a nice shirt.

The only real dress code I've found in N.O. is green....as long as you have some, you're totally welcome there!

Friends (locals) went to the HOB founders room where Jacket is required, he never wore it, just carried it all night and that was fine and dandy apparently.

Actually, PC, I don't get much chance to practice...so whenever I can, I work on a few moves....unfortunately, my neighbors caught me this past weekend....

When I visit a restaurant with a dress code during Fest, I'll show up in a tee-shirt, shorts and tennis shoes and a (sometimes drunken) grin, approach the maitre'd and say "Guess I'm underdressed, huh?"
They usually just laugh at me and stick me in a corner somewhere. :)
