R N B was my "plan B" in case Buddy Guy sold out (which it now has). Do I need to A) Buy tickets ahead of time B) get to the place by a certain time to be sure I get in? Wanted to go Friday for Tab Benoit and Anders.

Perhaps I should start doing more damn research before I just blindly post stupid questions. I saw on their site that they only sell a small number of "pre-sale" and the majority are sold at the door. It also said you should get there 90 minutes before the door opens! The showtime is 8:30...does that mean we would need to try and find a cab immediately after JF to make it in time to get in? Do you have to wait outside for the 90 minutes? Do they serve beer? Do they oversell the venue so it is too cramped to move? Sorry for all the questions.

I'd say that if you're there before 10 or 10:30 you should be fine.

They have a full bar, and food too.

It's possible that they could 'oversell' the place but it's pretty big so you can find room in the back even if there are lots of people there. I don't know whether a Tab & Anders show would be sold-out or oversold, though -- anyone else have any idea?

Chances are it will not sell out. Even if they get their limit of people in there they will let you in as people leave. It get fairly crowded in there, especially as the evening goes on, but there's usually space at the back that you can retreat to, if needed. I, personally, see no need to get there 90 mins before the doors open. In fact, I plan on trying to get there around 8 or so.

They serve anything you might want as far as the bar goes.

If you want to see buddy , try cruising by the front of hob before show , people usally have extra tickets for sale outside.

How is RnB with their start times? I have tickets for this Saturday's show. I called and they told me The Wild Magnolias go on at 9:00. Is this realistic? Just wanting to know how much time I have post-fest to get there.

Thanks-

They usually start their shows pretty much on time (a rarity for some clubs). Years ago, when they reached their max capacity, a line would form. When someone left, someone could go in. And from what I hear, they don't have the Bowl Me Under anymore, so that could happen again. If you have pre-bought tickets and there's a line, go right to the door and you'll be let in.

We usually get there 8:30ish and haven't had a problem getting in. A spot on the wall is the only way to go!

Their timeliness has a little to do with how many bands are playing in a given night, so pay attention to that. and it never helps to call on the day of the show and ask for a schedule. The grid info that comes in often conflicts so there is certainly not a guarantee that the times posted are accurate, and the clubs often dont update their websites too often ... just call
