Offbeat mag has a neat feature in the JF bible where musicians and other New Orleans notables are asked who are their "Must See Three" performers at the Fairgrounds.
So far, I have peeked only at the cubes for the 2nd Friday. My must see 3 for that day are as follows:
1.) Coco Robicheaux
2.) L'il Band o'Gold (I'll have to haul ass on that one- S.C. stage to Acura)
3.) Coolie Family Gospel Singers - I've never heard them. I understand that they rarely perform outside of church.
Who's on your Must See Three list?
Fred (Texas JF Fanatic)

2nd Fri picks: I'm kind of open for that day. Only must see is Dirty Dozen & George Benson, both at Congo.

Yes, now that you mention it, Congo would be an excellent place to hang all day on 2nd Fri. !
Still haven't decided who to close out with that day. George Benson is an excellent choice!

"It's good to be back in this town," Plant said, as the ecstatic audience of 500 pressed close to the stage. "I can't tell you the adventures we used to have here many years ago." He credited the music of New Orleans and Chicago with facilitating Zeppelin's epic career as "philandering hedonists."
"philandering hedonists." That would be a great name for a band----They are on the top of a increasing list for me. Have to decipher the FOMs first to get the other two

A choir of 12 trombones, led by trombonist Elder Babb, plus a tuba, bari, drums and cymbals, raise a joyful noise in praise from this exciting ensemble of the United House of Praise for All People from South Carolina.

I like the FestnGator's list. :)
Of course I have my own personal list as well. ;)
BUT, back to the topic of Must See Three ACTS, here they are:
New Orleans Nightcrawlers - First Friday - 12:35 - J&H Stage
Snooks Eaglin - Second Saturday - 2:40 - Blues Tent
Living Tribute to Wardell Quezergue - Second Saturday - 4:55 - Allison Miner/Lagniappe Stage
Second weekend centric. How interesting. I just had a lively debate about the merits of seeing Joss Stone rather than Steely Dan. My AOR middle age compadre no comprende.
Holmes Bothers should be great. Roy Hargrove requires a fly by. Old Pittsburgh guy goes to visit George Benson. Need a Big Sam fix sometime over the weekend. Figures to be a split krewe between Cowboy Mouth and Galactic. See you at Galactic.
First weekend wish I were there -> Soulive, Mofro

2nd Friday: Gonna take your suggestions, read the bios, & go w/the flow
2nd Sat: Irma's tribute to Mahalia, Bumblebees, Allmans
2nd Sunday: Zion Harmonizers, Steely Dan (yep, won out over Joss), Jazz Jam
Anxious to hear 1st weekend reports... wishin I could be there...
Wait! Forgot Holmes Brothers! When's that? ...back to check the grids...
