I'm not just mortgaging my first born, but bringing my first and second born, my wife and my mother-in-law to do the whole thing.

What do you consider the whole shebang? Does it have to include everyday of fest plus daze between? Or should it include the thursday before and the monday after? Or what if you're not there first friday but you're there the rest of the time? ;)

there's a reason most of us were born with a spare kidney. you just have to plan the surgery for summer so you're totally healed by fest.

So, Guzilla, are you the Air Guitarist (about to drop trou) or are you the holder of the flag??? ;) :D

TheGuzilla
04-13-2007, 01:19 AM
very clearly the air guitarist...

(the trou was an unfortunate flotsam / jetsam sort of castaway...)

Zydekitten
04-13-2007, 01:21 AM
Hey, sometimes trou needs to be dropped . . . I'm just saying . . .

So, what were you playing on your Air Guitar??

TheGuzilla

just when I thought you couldn't get any cooler...

can't wait to meet you, darlin'...

Tiger Stripes @ MOMs Ball with Michalopoulous (who has become a good friend... hung out with him in NYC 3 weekends ago. I BELIEVE he & Reese are coming to our renewvows....)

I was sending pics back to my wife from the MOMs Ball, who was away for Mardi Gras with her Girls, and I sent her one of these pics to her cell phone and she responded, "What are you?"

And I responded (with the accidental typo) "I'm a Yiger!!!"

ever since, I've been called The Yiger... well... and the original Guzilla.... ;-)

http://i172.photobucket.com/albums/w12/TheGuzilla/MOMsLRMB.jpg

Zydekitten
04-13-2007, 01:49 AM
Great story (and photo), Yiger . . . I like it!!! It's better than being a Lyger.

Although, I'm still trying to get my kitten brain to figure out what a Guzilla is:

Something that makes his lovely wife hold Jack o'Lanterns . . .

http://i117.photobucket.com/albums/o67/Zydekitten/350981432_eb5f409063.jpg

Or something who make his lovely wife hold bad beers from Tejas on her head (repeatedly) . . .

We're in for the whole shebang, except for first Friday. (Flying in at extremely early hour on Saturday morning) This will be the first time we're doing both weekends. We were always 2nd weekenders, but since they did away with Thursday, 3 days of fest are not enough! We're more psyched for our trip than ever. We'll see you all at Threadhead meetup on Saturday the 28th!

Not mortgaging the house, but having to head back to BTR on Monday till Thursday to get some work in -- gotta pay for all the fun of getting to all 6 days! Getting my warm up by going to NO next Thurs. for the night, then to Houston for Buffett on the 21st. If I didn't have to work for the money, I could make a full time job of just going from party to party!

Is it time yet?

First Thursday to 2nd Sunday. I have to fly out early Sunday morning, unfortunately, so I'll miss the final fest day. But that's okay, i'm there 10 days - whoo hoo!

Best of all - I'll be on short-term disability the whole time, so don't even have to use up my vacation day!

Yyr, a big case of foms. How did you know I'd be seeing soulive, fred? ;) But another big reason are the mofro boys. I need a mofro show at least once a year and this seems to be my best opp so i'm taking it. AFter opening with injuns and then mofro, i'll be setting up at congo to enjoy the rest of the day.

Lets see... That was easy on guessing Soulive. Will miss Mofro Friday but will catch them Thursday night at Tips. Have to leave that time slot open for Zachard Richard. Might catch Soulive but will start out at 5:30 with Van. Then maybe catch the last of Soulive. I'm sure glad I don't have FOMS. :)

I would LOVE to meet you and PB but I will have to take a raincheck. I meant my mom's in Pearl River when I said "getting down there" I will be tired from the four hr. drive and I will still be 45 minutes from you so I highly doubt that I will be making a trek to the FQ, lol. But please tell PB I said hello and enjoy the Gumbo tour!

I feel ya - a couple of friends have vowed to join us in aught-nine for both weekends, but I have a sneaking suspicion that it'll be "one and done" for at least one of'em, and mainly out of guilty relief that Gustav was a near miss. Me? I'm in another kind of limbo - do I need that 1st Wednesday at Lafayette Square, too? I could stretch this to 3 weeks easy if I let myself off the leash... now how to pay for it. C'mon airline price war!
