STARTING THE FESTIVAL RIGHT
If the French Quarter Festival is here, the Jazz Fest is just around the corner. As usual, OffBeat will be in the thick of things. Along with our co-hosts Art and Lorraine Neville, OffBeat is having a pre-festival party in the French Quarter Bar in the Ritz-Carlton Thursday, April 26 from 8 to 10 p.m. We’ll also be showing the work of Robert Sturman, the artist whose work will grace the cover of this year’s Jazz Fest Bible. Sturman has done a series of portraits of New Orleans artists, with proceeds from sales going to New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival and Foundation, MusiCares Hurricane Relief Fund and the Tipitina’s Foundation. Playing at the party will be Henry Butler and Marva Wright. The next day, Jazz Fest starts and OffBeat is throwing an after-party at the Seahorse Saloon across Gentilly Boulevard from the Fair Grounds. The Free Agents Brass Band will be playing starting at 7 p.m., and the event is sponsored by Renew Our Music, and Miller Lite. Drop by and get your Jazz Fest Bible, your portable schedules, text your way into our mobile OffBeatNola schedule, say hello, and take advantage of the drink specials. We won’t have a booth on the Fair Grounds this year, so this is a great opportunity to touch base for another year.

Sea Horse is great - it's across from the Gentilly Gate - to your left - I think it is on the corner of Onzaga (love the street names in New Orleans). I love them because they had a $2.00 Abita draft in a big 20 oz red plastic cup. That is the perfect way to exit the fairgrounds in my opinion (getting a beer).
For those of you not attending the patry or for those of you going to IAC or Piano Night, this is a wonderful chance for you to check out Gumbohead. They will be playing Cafe Brasil from 9pm-1am on Monday 4/30. This is a great band that can funk you up and get you movin to some great zydeco. Their span of genres is so incredible!

Foot Tappin will get you nowhere ... check em out, big update last night. A few more emails and stray listing in these threads that I have to get to
I didnt grid the LMF In Stores, since they are the only venue doing them this year, I just linked to their website. I figured if nothing else, it may give them a little business by getting more traffic to their site.

Did you get the Mystic Knights of the Mau Mau's update w/ stages & times + their other events?
I have gridded a few shows that had "Mystic Knights of the Mau Mau's Presents" where I omitted that text from the listing, simply out of concern for space, Ive been "trimming some fat" out of some listings, in an effort to make them a little more printable.
If there is any specific show or shows, or a website, or en email from you that contained these, let me know. like I said I still had a bit more to go through, its not entirely unlikely that an email got misplaced though, as I try to stay synched up between work and home.
If youre taking about these shows (http://www.knights-maumau.com/show_schedule.php), Im on it!!
