Just booked the Hilton Friday-Monday of 2nd weekend for $62; already had 1st weekend for $60. I had tried earlier this week up to $70 but no luck. Prices may drop further, but that's good enough for me!

Where are you getting that rate?

Thanks

You submit the price and request a 4 start hotel in the Central Business District (CBD) and you should get it. Go to www.priceline.com and submit your price.

Sorry, I missed your post. On Priceline submit your bid for French Quarter or Downtown location, 4 star hotel, and name your price. You have to enter your credit card and if they accept your bid, they immediately charge your credit card with no cancellations allowed. They don't name the hotel ahead of time so you are never 100% certain that you will get the Hilton, for instance. But at 4 stars, you would get something comparable. If they don't accept your price, they don't charge your card.

I'm starting to sound like Swag. Check jazzfest.swagland.com for all of the current Priceline info.

Hey Swag...I'm sending you one...just got the Hilton for $55 for second weekend...great deal. Had booked at the Hampton in Garden District the other day when they suddely had openings at a great rate, but this is still $45/day less even when adding in the $25/day self parking charge. Don't know what's up with the H chain...so many hotels had no vacancies for so long, and now all of a sudden, they all have openings....WTF?

I'd been trying to get a rate of $65-80 for the Hilton on the dates 04/28 to05/07 through Priceline but nothing had popped up in the last week. Decided to go fro Hotwire. Got the Sheraton for $102. Not the greatest rate but this will be the third year there and they usually comp us breakfest every morning since we are going to be there so many nites, it's close to everything, and as stated, the beds are like heaven.

Now we're reall for Jazzfest. Feel like funkin' it up...feel like funkin' it up!!!

I just booked the Sheraton on Hotwire from Apr.25-May 7 for $99 a night. I had been trying for the Sheraton or any 4-star for quite a while now, and nothing. Seems like all the deals are finally showing up in April....so you just have to be patient. Hilton for $55-$62....damn! That's a good price. I don't mind paying the extra to get the Sheraton which I really like. I suppose I could've played around more with Priceline, but Hotwire has been showing a "4-Star Customer Favorite" for $99 a night, and I went for it, and I am sooo happy! It was weird not having a booked room for a few months, yet having my plane reservation. So I booked a room through Orbitz just to have a reservation, and all it cost me was a $25 cancellation fee. Well worth it to substitute it for a 4-star!

Would you be interested in a room at The Hilton (1001 Peters St) from 5/3-7th. Turns out my friends have a place for us to stay and I've already been charged for the room. It costs $450, but would be willing to charge less. If you are interested we can exchange phone #'s and then meet at my buddies bar, Funky Pirate on 5/2. If interested send me an email to camperic AT YahooDOTcom

Any suggestions on the "sweet spot" at the Hilton for 4/29 - 5/1?

(Or other suggestion for good deals... its seems that Sunday and Monday shouldn't have as high of demand.)

CD, for the Hilton, I'd start at $45, then $55, then $65.[Edit - Nevermind, see next post]

A little less nice, but a bit better location, the Holiday Inn FQ is on EasyClick for the days between for $67.

Well, I just got a report of $65 failing for those dates, so my last post may have been overly optimistic.

According to swag's site, it was as low as $45 at the Hilton.

If you are asking when for the Holiday Inn, yesterday on easyclick for 4/29 - 5/1.
