They will be giving them out for free in front of the gates of Fest. Also, Offbeat will have a booth on the fairgrounds.

Probably won't be out until the first day of the fest. I'm a subscriber, and mine was waiting at the P.O. Box when I got back last year. They're easy to find. They give them out outside of fest, and they're available at lots of locations like cd stores and many bars and coffeehouses. Since you don't get lots of time to look at it once you're in the thick of things, I thought you might enjoy last year's.

i'd be surprised if they have 'em available inside the fairgrounds, since they are competition for selling programs.
which reminds me. buy a program too! lots of good info for 1st timers, coupons for fest food and some booths, and it makes a great souveneir.

They do have a booth, but they can't even let you look at a copy inside the fest. Get one outside the gate and bring it in. Go visit the booth. They need subscribers.

I thought for sure they had a booth right by the chairs, sunglasses etc when you come in from the Sauvage side. Oh well, maybe I was already drunk on Fest and imagined it. :D

If you are here in N.O. you should be able to get a copy by the Tuesday before the first weekend, in the Quarter and Marigny first. Wednesday at the latest.

We are usually able to grab one in the lobby of our hotel when we arrive (and we are 2nd weekenders).

That is one of the first things I do after getting into town. Go to LMF for a copy of offbeat and some music.

The Offbeat JF bible usually comes out a few days before the first fest weekend. They can be picked up in a zillion places around the corner including HOB and LMF. Gotta have one! :)

According to this week's Weekly Beat, there will not be an Offbeat booth at the fest this year. They are throwing a cool-looking afterparty across from the fest. I'm sure someone else will have more details.

STARTING THE FESTIVAL RIGHT
If the French Quarter Festival is here, the Jazz Fest is just around the corner. As usual, OffBeat will be in the thick of things. Along with our co-hosts Art and Lorraine Neville, OffBeat is having a pre-festival party in the French Quarter Bar in the Ritz-Carlton Thursday, April 26 from 8 to 10 p.m. We’ll also be showing the work of Robert Sturman, the artist whose work will grace the cover of this year’s Jazz Fest Bible. Sturman has done a series of portraits of New Orleans artists, with proceeds from sales going to New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival and Foundation, MusiCares Hurricane Relief Fund and the Tipitina’s Foundation. Playing at the party will be Henry Butler and Marva Wright. The next day, Jazz Fest starts and OffBeat is throwing an after-party at the Seahorse Saloon across Gentilly Boulevard from the Fair Grounds. The Free Agents Brass Band will be playing starting at 7 p.m., and the event is sponsored by Renew Our Music, and Miller Lite. Drop by and get your Jazz Fest Bible, your portable schedules, text your way into our mobile OffBeatNola schedule, say hello, and take advantage of the drink specials. We won’t have a booth on the Fair Grounds this year, so this is a great opportunity to touch base for another year.
