Hey all!

Looking for info on Ingrid Lucia's Backyard Bash.

...sorry if this has already been threaded before but I've been on a little sabbatical. Now, however, it's three weeks away and my fingers are a-itchin' and my feet are a-tappin'.

Next there is The Second Annual Backyard Bash which takes place on May 2nd in our backyard..... there has been some progress back here since last year... not alot.. we have a surprise for you all... we had a great party last year.. ! 300 people showed up to see the bands.
We have a great lineup this year.. (see Poster) Tickets are $20.00 per person and we will be selling food and beveragesseparately on the cheap.. as we lost money last year.
You can also paypal dwight@dwightmarshall.com for tickets. We have had a huge response so far, so tickets will not be sold at the gate. If you have any trouble using paypal, have never done it
or are just plain scared of it.. email dwight@dwightmarshall.com and we can arrange another way to pay.

We are playing The New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival on May 6th at 3:05 pm under The Economy Hall tent....
It is the traditional jazz tent... so come one come all!!!!

our Cd release party will be at Chickie Wah Wah's May 6th after Jazzfest from 9-1 pm
chickie wah wah's is on Canal Street... you can take the trolley there... and home...
here is the chickie websitehttp://www.chickiewahwah.com (http://www.chickiewahwah.com/)/

I hope I didn't do it wrong, but as far as I can tell- you can go to the paypal site itself and log in:
1-select send money
2- In the send to box-put in the dwight marshall address
3- Put in the amount of money you want to send
4- After you click continue- you will get a message box where you can put in that the money is for Bash tickets.

thanks, the only time i;ve used paypal was with a credit card.

i just tried and it looks like that is not an option, i need to set up a paypal account secured with a bank account. i'm not real keen on doing that.

Neen, looks like you're feeling better! Don't push it.
I did it with a credit card with no paypal account, the way mangoon outlined. You don't have to set up an account. Just say no.

I've been using PayPal with my bank account for several years now (mostly for my eBay addiction) and I've never, ever had any problems, issues, phunky phishing e-mails . . . it is totally secure and safe, y'all . . . I swear!

Thanks, that's what my hubby keeps telling me. STOP TYPING. LOL, I just can't help it.

I figured out the paypal problem. Apparently they had an account set up for me from some previous problem, and it had an expired credit card. So I fixed it up and it went through fine. Thanks everyone.

See ya;'ll at Ingrid's

Too bad about the slow replies -- that is not usual.

As an FYI, bringing a chair is probably a good idea. People did bring them last year.

i just figured he wasnt the person to answer my questions and had sent it on to someone who could, and/or he doesnt read/anwer his email everyday - lots of people don't.

i just sent a new email, from my work account, with a copy of my paypal receipt.

Hmm, I got the receipts almost immediately. Bought some for Chris last week and it was still only 5 on the list, seems people aren't buying all that fast? Yes, bring chairs!

I didn't go to this last year, but considered it. I've got a couple of friends going with us this year who are really looking forward to the food. Is the Ingrid Lucia thing the place to bring them?

If you used the Checking Account option through paypal, he wont send the response until the e-check clears (2-3 days) as opposed to the credit card option which is almost immediate. He is normally good about replying promptly

Last year, the food was included in the ticket(as was beer). They started with bbq chicken. That soon ran out- as did the beer. They ran out to get more of everything, but they got a little overwhelmed. Food was ok- nothing special. Think they grabbed hot dogs and burgers on the food run.

Funny moment last year when the guy who was cooking the chicken went up on stage to play drums and another guy took over the bbq. The drummer must have thought the other guy was serving the chicken to the party guests and started yelling from the stage "Dude the chickens not done yet. Dont give that chicken out. Its not done yet. Dude, if you serve that chicken out people will die."

I remember that! I don't remember much from that night, but that I do recall. Just a small part of the evening's charm.

BTW, agree with mdfest - the food was just OK. Funkifized, if you want a really good dinner, go out for an early one (Mandina's is not far) and then come over to the party, it goes til 11.
