Reserving a taxi ahead of time for hotel pickup

Last year, we reserved a taxi two weeks ahead of time! I believe I found that this was recommended by SWAG, thanks! Anywhooo, they showed up Sat and Sunday at hotel in Metairie on time both days for pick up - while others at our hotel were stranded as .......when the fest starts......the taxis phones are busy busy busy and many folks can't get through. (We are wanting 10:45 pickups both Fri/Sat this year)

So again - asking for which companies will take reservations in advance like we did last year as I didn't keep the information for my records of the DEPENDABLE service that we used last year. (We stayed, and will be again, at the Hampton in Metairie)

Last year, we befriended the cabbie who picked us up from the airport. Chatted it up with him and he gave me his cell # and told me to call him ANYTIME and he would take care of us. Low and behold, we called him early Sunday morning and he got to the hotel for our trip to the airport as early as 6am. So that is really my best advice.

Yea, but I lost his # after losing my phone!! I know he was from United and I think his name was Abdul or Mohammed. Very cool dude who shared his touching Katrina story....
