Agree with others. Not worth the risk of a sniffer dog screwing up your trip. Much safer to ups or fedex to yourself.

how do the U.S. territories' laws stack up against contiguous 48 states' laws? if you're caught (assuming on departure from USVI), would the local rule apply? If so, keep it misdeameanor if it's a ticketable violation (leaving plenty of time for the time & trouble at the airport) - avoid completely if it's a bookable offense, and if it's a felony of any sort, watch Blow, Midnight Express or Return to Paradise and bring plenty cash to your destination.

oh, and Seal-a-Meal also vacuum-packs food for your freezer, so it's got other uses!

No local laws apply in this case. When transporting over state lines it becomes federal jurisdiction, which means DEA, FBI, TSA etc and not local authorities.

Granted, the odds of getting caught are very low. Especially when dealing with an edible and I assume small quantities of such. But not worth it the risk. Pack it up nice and tight and make it look like a birthday 'care package' of grandma's best baked goods, pop it into a UPS or Fedex box and away you go.

That is who monitors and enforces at airports for interstate commerce so federal law applies and any bust lands you in the federal system and not state or local.

Gonna take everyone's advice & leave lagniappes home in the freezer. I've always played it safe flying, but was hoping for some success stories. Hmm, I suppose I'll sleep very well & not be of much other use until I do fly.....

I have had lots of friends that have had success with this since the whole MM stuff changed the laws. They actually go carry on most of the time. I wouldn't risk it, but know a lot of people that do and have never heard of an issue.

Based on what I have read, the addition of this vegetable to one's diet tends to affect decision making regarding one's food intake.

In my 43 years of ganja use, I have NEVER heard of anyone getting busted for edibles.
As we used to say in the 60s, "dare to struggle,
dare to win!"
