In past years, we were alays able to find a "wash-dry-fold" place in the quarter. It was great not to have to pack so much, just drop off dirty clothes in the mornig, and pick them up clean and folded in theafternoon.
Does anyone know if any of these places survived>

Weren't you staying at the Lemoyne? Yes, they offer both laundry and dry cleaning services; at least according to their WEB page. I was just checking that this weekend.
theres a wash dry fold place way down on bourbon - on the gay end ... cant remember the name, but its some kind of play on the quarter.
and theres always igor's. but youd have to do the work yourself, while drinking.

Neen - how are you feelin'?
There are a few wash and fold places ...but Hula Mae's at 838 Rampart Street - 504-522-1336 does wash and fold in the quarter - it's $1.09 per pound over night or $1.35 for the same day - but if you want same day, you gotta bring it in early.
We used them when the washer at the house
(sister in law's) wasn't working and it was fine. They were one of the only places we could find, at the time. They were real nice too. It's right at Armstrong park and Dumaine.

Hula Mae's is the site of the famous J&M Recording Service, Cosimo Matassas's recording studio, the very epicenter of The New Orleans Big Beat Sound!
Oddly enough, when Cosimo moved to larger quarters it was to 521 Gov. Nichols, which is not the home of the Brangelinas. I kind of doubt that they take in laundry.

Oh yeah, the Clover, my first stop for chow in New Orleans! Things were a little weird there last year, closing at odd times for "cleaning," etc.
Anybody have an update?

I had that closed for cleaning happen once at a waffle house. I think if a place gets slammed and is shorthanded on top of that, they'll do the close thing.

yup, that's the one we used too. We always used to stay at the "gay end of the quarter" as someone just said.
KK - i totally forgot about hotel having laundry. That would be the easiest, if it is not too expensive.
Don;t want to do my own, that;s for sure. I;m on vacation!
