I've been an Indians fan for a long time so I had to cheer for the Tribe. Our poor friend Vince grew up in Ohio so he's crazy for them...tattoo and everything. I went over to their house last night to watch the game but Jimbo stayed home cause he was cheering for the Sox. Vince had game tickets available and flight plans made....all his Indian hats were laid out around the house....all four of their kids plus both of them had on their Tribe-wear. He was so hopeful and then so bummed out it was killing me!

BUT...congrats to the Sox and to Kitty and Gumbo and the rest of their threadhead fans! My hubby and son were very happy and I would have been too if they had been playing anyone else. Gotta love baseball!

The Monteleone is the nicer of the two; it's among my favorite hotels in the Quarter. I'm sure the French Market Inn is cheaper, if that's a factor.

We dismantled the tribe 10-3 in game 1 of the ALCS and it went 7. They will be hungry tomorrow night against Curt Schilling..we need to continue to produce runs and keep our pitch counts reasonable

So, last week while buying some "2 buck chuck" I bought a new corkscrew. One of those small bartender type ones. Now bear in mind I'm used to those wing type ones AND I'm an idiot. So I read the directions " Twist in until the second groove reaches the top of the bottle, pull up the the other side, align the lower groove with the rim of the bottle blah, blah blah. For a f#%kin week I've been doing battle with this corkscrew, twisting, yanking, pulling, and even adding more four letter words and various combinations to my already extensive collection every time I try to open a friggin bottle. Now tonight, I use it and like I beacon from above I see EXACTLY what the directions were trying to say and cork comes out in about .2 seconds. And all I can say to myself is how the f$%k did it take me A WEEK to figure this out.

Tomorrow I attempt to change a light bulb.

My sister and I had an incredible "insider" experience as her eldest son is there on a design internship with jewellry designer John Hardy. Such a great time, and the Balinese are warm, wonderful and always smiling (sound like New Orleanians!).

I miss youze guys -- saw the pics of Festgiving, just too much much much fun!

WhoooooooooHooooooooooo. My almamater whoopped Satan's team last night. I had no idea till I got to work this morning. Thanks for the congrats. When I went there it was NLU & we were the Indians. Now it is ULM & the Warhawks. My football buddy, Kibby called to congratulate me in debriefing at work. That was funny, the guy's were sshushing everyone saying be quite Mel is talking football. And yes, I still say Bless You Boys, even if the Saint's lost. And yes i be dinkin Abita Beer.
