Definitely want to do one or two of these when we get down there. Any suggestions on tour companies, specific tour guides, or which tours to take is greatly appreciated.

I found his website and would really love to take one of his tours...but we just won't have the time this trip. Guess I'll have to plan another weekend trip for early fall! :)

nopoyo, i dont remember your story if you've given it as to when will you be in nola. if you're jazzfesting, that takes up first fri, sat and sun and 2nd thur-sun. and then there are instores on the daze between and rosetreefest on wed. the west bank where you can watch fellow threadhead , rosie, blow glass. and buy if you wanna. and have a muffaletta and a hubigs. and then there's the patry on tues and chazfest and all the night shows. and the food to eat.... I can never work it all in!

They are authentic, with tour guides who know their stuff - and not a bunch of hype/sensationalism as some others are. I did the French Quarter tour, the Garden District tour (which also goes into Lafayette Cemetery, except on Sundays), and the Cemetery-Voodoo tour. Loved them all and learned a lot.

Apostrophe, I'd like to do the bike thing but, it's still up in the air. In the future though, I think I will definitely rent a bike.

Funkjunkie, we are festing on second weekend but only going to the fest for 2 days (I've been down before but have never really explored the city so we are trying to do more of that this time.)

Oh that looks really cool. Not for a Jazzfest trip, but definitely another trip down to NOLA, this is going to be added to my ever growing list of things to do. Damn city, every time I leave I just have more things I need to do and reasons to go back! :D

So it turns out we are, in fact doing the bike tour as well. 4 of us are going to take the "History of Drinking" tour on Thursday May 5th at 10:45 a.m. So excited. Thanks Apostrophe.

nice! i'm sure you'll love it. the folks that run CoC are super chill, super fun and super knowledgable. if it weren't on a fest day, we'd totally join you. they've added the cocktail cruise since we were there last year, but it's on my list.

Funkjunkie: Yea, they go to five bars and you get five classic New Orleans Cocktails. I'm sure you can have more if you want. ;) After you pay them, CoC handles all of the drinks and gratuity for the bar staff. I'm excited.
