NEW ORLEANS (March 22, 2007) – To share positive news of New Orleans’ economic and cultural revitalization and combat misperceptions about the city’s recovery, Tulane University President Scott Cowen and New Orleans City Council Vice President Arnie Fielkow today announced the creation of the Fleur-de-lis Ambassadors Program. Local business and community leaders who comprise the entity have volunteered to represent the city and speak on behalf of its recovery to media, business councils, civic groups, political leadership and philanthropic organizations in top markets around the country over the coming months.

Wow, that's awesome! Good idea, too. Can't wait to hear the progress reports.

i think it's a great thing to do. there's so much negative news about NOLA that you hear all the time, there has to be at least some positive too!

All big name CEOs ...no small businessmen/women. I don't see them suffering like we are. I would love to tell the world about my beloved New Orleans. No one asked me!
I hope that they do well also! Anything positive is a benefit to everyone here in NO.

Is there a way that you and other small NOLA business people can take part, Rosy?

Hey RT, in your own small way you are. This is our first trip back post K. We've been taken by the spirit of the people on this board and the whole Threadhead orginization.

We have a place for the city in our hearts and it's why we return, not just because of Jazz Fest.

I've posted links to this forum on other sites and the charity raffle. I've already spoken to others about it. I have people who have asked me to tell them about the city after I get back. It's not going to be the CEO story I have to tell, but the people's story.
