One of the coolest, ecclectic bars in the city, not well known or frequented by tourists, but ssshhh it's a secret. In a not so great part of the city(borders the ninth ward) but go, go, go if you dare. I don't know how to do the link here, but they have a page on myspace. Saturn Bar is a great place to hang out, check out the local scene. St. Claude is not so lovely there, but it's across from the Truck Farm, and there are local musicians there often. I don't find it dangerous area. Just a long way from the Garden district.
