Just got my last chance email from WWOZ tonite and thought why not!!! Isn't all the good music streaming and live at fest and any time I am in NOLA worth it. Isn't a Little Feat dedication with a shout to me in CT on ThanKsgiving eve worth it!!!! We may not be able to give the time but for a meeger extra $80 bucks if you can ?BUY YOUR BRASS PASS!!!!
just a gentle reminder

After 16 years of Fests I got a Brass pass this year. Maybe because I am going as a single man this year I find I want to experience it in new ways. Who can tell me how good this pass is. Do you get close to the stage and is it crowded like the field. Counting down the days. I even played the ponies this year at the Fairgrounds. Won 8 bucks.Looking forward to T-Bone & is Rod Stewart doing a special show just for the Fest? That is what I heard.

Did you get a Brass Pass or Big Chief? The Brass Pass is from WWOZ, and it entitles you to a special entry area, the ability to leave and re-enter, and admittance to the WWOZ tent, which has refreshments and nicer, more private portajohns, plus a few other extras. The Big Chief is from the fest itself, and it entitles you to special seating areas (not so close at the big stages but with seats), separate johns, some refreshments, and (I think) admission to a special area where you can get buy some special adult beverages.
As for Rod, it is my understanding that he will do a show of the hits which is completely different than the torch song tour he's doing right now.

My second Jazzfest, my first time Brass Pass...I'd like to list all the reasons to buy a BP, but the bottom line-for me anyway-was not pay the loan shark type handling fees of Ticketbastid. Seven bucks handling fee per ticket? Kiss my pass.

papins,
After doing the math, the $80 more than the single ticket costs is less than $40 after you would pay the TM fees. I can drink at least that much water, iced coffee and mango freeze. The cleaner toilet is worth at least $10 a day. :D

I wish they sold the passes for each weekend instead of having to buy both weekends. I would definitely be down if I could only buy the second weekend.
Maybe next year!

and for those of you who don't think an extra $10 is worth six days of clean toilets (with paper) and no lines, my guess is you'll be Brass Passing it next year.

The WWOZ potty is almost clean enough to go into in your bare feet, even when sober. :D

MGB, I thought the lines were long the year i had a BP. I used the other portapotties on the track most of the time.

You know, it really depends on when you are going there.
Hmmm....Depends might be a good idea. :D
