I listened to The Neville Brothers live set from 2005 fest on my iPod while walking across the fields with my dog Ella this morning. It brought it all back to me but made me wish like hell they were all performing together this year at the fest. Were are going to miss you fellas:(

I looked at the schedule and they will be in my city, Louisville, for 4th of July at Waterfront Park on the River. Love listening to music on the banks of the river. No doubt followed by a fireworks show. I couldn't be more pleased. Great venue and great music!

It is off Randall Road between North ave./Rt.64 and Roosevelt Road/Rt.38 , this was from the message board on the Nevilles sight and I'm not sure if it's confirmed. I'm in downtown Geneva and can stumble home so I would be stoked!

I think you misunderstood me. Aaron's woes, which are tragic, I believe is only part of it. I think it sad that the first family family of funk has moved out of New Orleans. To play all of those shows and not even sniff New Orleans(one is in Lake Charles), I think something else is at play.

Glinda, that show is confirmed ( Kane Co. Fair Website ). You can take the train to Geneva or LaFox and walk or taxi from that point. I love taking the train into the city to see shows,only thing is if you party to late you miss the last train and have to keep partying.

I think it's Aaron who's holding them back....the others have all been back to play several times in the last year and 1/2. He seems absolutely destroyed by all that's happened with the Thing, his wife dying etc. I really believe now that he just can't handle it yet, if ever. Everyone grieves in different ways..I can't judge or fault him for that...at all. My heart goes out to him actually....

absolutely, corona.....grief is such a personal thing. when my parents died, i had so many well meaning folks tell me to move on...pain and joy is just such paradox, ain't it? we all got our ways.

It is hard to understand why the Nevilles are not playing New Orleans during JF. They are playing two gigs the weekend before in Lake Charles, LA. Surprised that the HOBs or anyone else did not book em.

The Nevilles have decided they will not return to New Orleans at this time, for a number of reasons, principally Aaron's asthma problems. I don't imagine getting a venue to book them would be a problem at all if they were willing to come.

I don't think it's asthma at all. Air quality is back to normal. As many have suggested, it sounds more emotional for members.

That's the thing...they've ALL come back to play....except Aaron. It's more than just asthma...like luke said...air quality is back to normal....based on the interviews he's done, he just sounds completely heartbroken.

It's my hope that by performing away from New Orleans he will mend his heart if it ever can be. We all handle things different. From what I read and understand about his life long relationship with Joel it was deep and could not have been anything less than devastating and incredibly painful coming on the heels of the devastation of his hometown. He is not unlike others who cannot bear the loss of New Orleans as it was before the storm. He is still making a contribution in his own way with the New Orleans Artist Against Hunger and Homeless www.noaahh.org.

I hope he finds some peace someday.

Hey Folks, during the "off season" when we have time, email the Nevilles & let them know we need them back. They all have web sites and if you cannot find their email then let them know on their message boards.
