Definately not a name I expected to see, but it would be great to see Dave Pirner.

There will be some additions to the line up, and there will be great food and beverages as well. Like the fest, it's byo chair/blanket. There is shelter from the word-that-isn't-spoken. The beer is not Bud or Miller LIght. And if anyone out there knows who the beer savior was last year, please tell him to get in touch...

New add to lineup for Chaz Fest is
Supagroup!
Also there is one more add to come, currently super secret. But it is a big name act for a small fest, and if I hint any more you might guess.
I am NOT allowed to tell...

Glad you all had a good time. We will be better at it this year. All involved in the behind the scenes were unpaid friends and family of the bands and Alex McMurray who put it on. And no meteorological events this year, we're determined. There will be excellent beer and food from several vendors, and a really excellent secret band.

Sounds like Kourtney and crew have their hands full again. I'd be happy to help spread the word. If someone had a bunch of flyers, I'd be happy to hand them out and spread the word.

I'm coming in from NH, tix to this is the first thing we did, before we even booked a flight or a room :) People who went last year said it was a lot of fun so I was really happy to see it going on this year. And I get to see Dave Pirner in New Orleans? That's a nice surprise too. Really excited about it.

Hah, this is very very cool. This is working out even better than we thought it would. I ran into chazfest on the NOLA 2007 events calender and booked the room and the flight before the website had even been updated from 2006. Lineup unseen. It just didn't matter because I knew I was going to like it. Then it updated and I saw Dave Pirner listed and blissed out a little bit with "I get to see Dave Pirner? Really? In New Orleans? COOL!"
Now we have this other little interesting development here. Because there's this SA band (heh) that I saw a handful of times this past summer/fall/winter and dug a whole lot. So this is very cool indeed. Kismit :)
I feel a little like I'm in an add.
"SA: They're everywhere you want to be"
I just went and listened to all of the other bands I could find online. VERY neat, I like this music. This is going to be a very very good time. AND it's my first trip to New Orleans. I like how it's looking :)

Chaz fest website has been updated, so the secret is no longer just broad hints. They have not changed the ticket price. And the food beverage info is up as well.

a side stage???? nice! alternating or are both going to be going at once?
mboard
04-11-2007, 10:26 AM
They will alternate with a little overlap, I think. The full, expanded list is up on the www.chazfestival.com site. Of course, since many of the local heros playing on the side stage have made up new names for their festival configurations, it's hard to know who is whom!!
I can add that Soul Asylum will be playing in the afternoon, and SupaGroup will close it out. Do come and party!
