who on here said that the vip area will be in a better location this year ? it may be worth it if its closer . but the location its been is not worth the 500 .00 it sold for . this year its 600 dollars so are they planning on giving you more for the extra money or is it just they figured what the hell ,charge an xtra 100 .00 for no reason . that doesnt even include parking ...... crazy

I was considering it because hubby just had surgery for a real bad broken leg and ankle.

There is a photo posted on Main Category>Jazz Fest Forum>For Newbies (and vets too) by Bill/KC and from what this newbie can tell, you are really removed from the action. Also if he needs to rest there are benches and places to take a break. So all in all I am hoping we made the right decision.

it will definitely be worth it for yor husband . i like to be right up front so its not worth it for me . with his busted leg ,he wouldnt be able to get close. the vip area is raised and has chairs for handicapped . you made a good choice. dont expect too much for snacks though . just chips and fruit is all . he will like the oversized porto potty.:) have a great time. oh ,and dont pay the 100.00 parking . u can pay the locals 20 to 30 bucks to park in thier yard

We purchased Big Chief tickets before we found this forum. Now, I'm thinking we made a mistake. I assumed for that price we would have a prime location.
Since I like to really get into the music it was probably a waste of money for me. Oh well, live & learn.
Belle, not sure how the seating works (someone here can surely tell us more), I would be more than happy to let your husband sit most of the time at my seat. Don't think I'll be spending alot of time there.

As time gets closer I will remember that. Going to see the doc next week to see if his cast ca be removed or replaced (please God, get that stinky thing off).

I am hopeful he can walk but it would tickle me if he could dance! We have been taking in lots of shows and I just dance with the crowd but poor fella he just sits and rocks in his chair.

Thanks again Bluesmama. A true Fest spirit!!!

the war Veterans provide wheelchairs right inside the fairgrounds for
a small donation.....and wheelchairs and their attendants have special
areas right in front of most of the big stages, with their own port o let...
and most of the other stages have spaces and chairs designated for
wheelchairs...all at ground level..
