so I think I heard either at Jazzfest or a show I went to while there somebody playing a real funked up version of the Peanuts theme- wondering if anyone can tell me who played it: Kermit? Shamarr? Big Sam?? or if it's been released
it's running through my head and I'd love to get a hold of it

Dirty Dozen BB did a song for Pet De Kat, same name, on the 2002 Buck Jump album. It always remeinded me of something from Peanuts. It's out there on google, and it may be what you heard.

The Russell Batiste & Friends set from jazzfest is available on jazzfestlive, theoretically. FWIW, "Linus & Lucy" is not in the set list.

When Surfing With The Alien came out, Joe Satriani would turn Stu loose for a solo & I got to see him tear into his Factor 4-string this one... amazing then & still fun now!
