I'm hoping someone can help me here. All I know about a Brass Pass, is that it's $350 and it covers both weekends and I can purchase one through the WWOZ website. Maybe they have my questions answered on their website, but I couldn't seem to find it...Other than admission, what is offered, will it be sent to my address or do I pick it up at 'Will Call"?

NOW is the time to get the brass pass, its during there spring drive and they are trying to reach $12,000 by March 18, 2007- you want to call Robin at wwoz, her number is (504)655-0266 - the trick is they don't mail brass passes unless you give them a fed ex number - HOWEVER, i just had to buy one more, so i'll be going to wwoz's office next week to pick mine up - if you like i'll pick yours up and mail it to you (I did this for Amy Winette) - tell Robin that Jena will be picking up your brass pass for you - also, because its the spring drive there are all kinds of other little give aways that you get - email me at jenasmith34@yahoo.com if you want me to pick up your pass for you and mail it.....Call Robin today.

This is my first year with Brass Pass but if memory serves correctly you get:

1. Additional goodies with sign-up. (For me a bumper sticker, cd, and OZ hoodie.)

2. Seperate entrance gate so you miss the long lines. Must enter Sauvage gate.

3. Access to OZ tent with drinks, internet access, and (most importantly) seperate bathrooms.

4. Warm & fuzzy feeling that you have supported a good cause.

My hubby just left WWOZ picking up our brass passes along with Ozzie's, Ohio's and Saturns. Papins, if MG picks yours up make sure you send her your transaction ID number so she can print that out and give it to Robin. I think it was easier that way instead of just emailing Robin cause the id#'s helped.

Jimmy was making me very jealous cause John Boutte and Paul Sanchez were there at OZ warming up for a studio performance. He sat and watched them and talked to them for a while. (and called me a few times to rub it in!)

There has been some mention of that somewhere on these boreds. Don't know if anyone has stepped up to volunteer to organize it though.

This is inaccurate as of last year, they no longer do that they said.

There wasn't a separate gate, but there was a separate entrance once within the big gates. And you do not need to go to the Sauvage entrance. I enter at Gentilly.

We went on the jazzfest express bus, which had it's own entrance. First day there was a small to do when we presented our passes, but fine after that.

Are you sure on that gate issue? I have the overpass and it states "ENTER AT SAUVAGE ST. GATE ONLY"

Heard from Robin at wwoz that the jazz fest folks tend to change there mind on this one almost every year...some years they let you enter any gate, other years that try to specify the gate (but they don't always enforce) - this is one of the years that they are trying to specify the brass pass entrance gate, Sauvage entrance

btw: I"m going to try going in the gate i always go in by DeSaix.

I'm sure about JF express entrance. Our to do was only that someone had to go find a scanner.

Dunno.....I've had the passes for the last two years and always entered at Gentilly without any issues. There was an entrance to the side of the ticket-takers where the guy stood with the scanner thing. I wouldn't care where I enter except that we park at the same house every year. When she sees us coming up the street she yells at the other neighbors trying to get us to park there, "Back off! That's my customers!!"

One of the questions you asked was how to get the pass....if you're in town before Thursday before the fest you can usually pick it up at the whole foods store on magazine. If not, you go directly to the gate and they have 'em waiting for you. They don't ship them anymore - they were late, lost or otherwise costing a LOT of money to send......and since we're all going to be there anyway - why not just get them there?

I have to admit - it was my idea (I think one of the best ideas I've ever had - yes - my head is now swelling to match the size of my a$$ ha ha)- I wrote to Dave F. of wwoz after the storm when there was a short lived talk of no brass pass last year - and it turns out that by not sending them fedex or whatever actually saved a lot of time and a LOT of money - so that's cool !!!

that's what I do - because the other advantage to doing that is that I WILL NOT LOSE IT EVEN BEFORE I GET TO USE IT !!!!!!!!!

The Sauvage gate. That's where we entered with our BPs last year.

ROFLMAO .....

seriously, we've been parking right outside that gate for 12+ years, and before that we were parking inside - before they moved the tents and there was lots more parking. so i don't know if i've ever walked in thru another gate. and i believe there are only 2 pedestrian gates for the GP.
