wondering if anyone has suggestions for where to camp tent-style? i have found quite a few areas for RVs and maybe tents could be there too... just seeing if you veterans have any suggestions. thanks!

that's tough. there were a few that alllowed tents on Chef Mentuer Hiway but that's NOLA east and from what i understand, wiped out by flooding.

there's some state parks but they're a good distance away and i'm not sure if they don't have displaced residents living there still.

have you tried google?

One of my good friends used to camp at the KOA. I think she checked on it for this year and it was available.

The RV/Camping park on Chef Mentuer was opened last year. Friends park their RV every year. (About 4 miles from JF) Located on Chef Mentuer about 1/2 miles from I-10. I've seen people with tents also.

did the hookers come back too? (dont let it scare you - they're friendly)
how about We Never Close - some great cheap eats and a drive thru?

its a much better location than way out on the river by the airport (KOA)- at least to the fest. depending upon where you go at night, it might be about the same.
