wouldnt that be great. i know there not everywhere, but its a start.
you could go to the store and buy them for $35 + the $2 handling per. very likely to spend money while you're there. and/or they could take over the online ordering and charge something reasonable.
someone had a connection to someone at borders - put in a word for next year.

they've announced Borders as the Music Tent vendor for fest this year.
since they now have an affiliation, maybe they could take over ticket sales.

Borders or Barnes & Noble....anyone but Ticketbastard...BTW, has any official explanation come down as to why we can't by direct online like we were able to last year?

I wouldn't trust that either of those stores would sell fest tickets without the markup. B&N are the bookseller at many of the college bookstores and the markup on the books are incredible. I see them doing the same as ticketbastard. Borders is pretty overpriced here in New England, compared to many of the local sellers.

but they wouldn't need to make big money from the ticket sales -just use it to lure you into the store, to buy overpriced stuff. never pay full price at Borders, there is a different sale every 3 days.
when we were 'kids' you could get concert tickets at Orange Julius, with no mark up. and of course we'd usually buy something while in there.

Barb - I get that - I just didn't understand the point of the other posting from festival girl about Borders having a corp. hq in Ann Arbor....maybe they didn't know that borders was the official cd tent....??
Anyone but ticketbastid - i am on that train

Sorry, I thought that might prompt someone from Ann Arbor to weigh in on their connections to Borders. It was a stretch that apparently didn't work.

Already weighed in on the Music Tent thread. When they sponsored the Ann Arbor Blues & Jazz Festival they sold tickets for us, as I recall. I would imagine that if they have a good experience with the Tent, some sort of sponsorship deal might be worked out, but nobody is set up like TB and pushing them out of the picture would be a tall order. So far, it seems Jazzfest is perfectly happy with them, no matter what we all think.
