I don't see Jimmy Buffett on the daily schedules...Where is he? I thought I had heard (early on) that he was coming!

that was only a rumor. he will not be on the line-up for jazz fest 2007.

He is in Dallas on 4/28, which was the date that he was rumored to be at JF. I was still holding out hope that he would be added to 4/30 when the dailies were announced. Oh well, I guess its just one less conflict to worry about and/or more time to discover ‘new’ music.

OK, I heard a mostly reliable rumor last night...
Jimmy is coming, but you'll have to look for him, because "you never know where culture is going to show up".

Hola! Savannah made the comment on her Sirius show that her Dad would be at Fest April 28. Maybe she's out of the loop. Since Sonny has been touring with him, it's very possible that he'll show somewhere in NO at some point, then hop the plane to Dallas. He's broken his Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday routine with a show scheduled in Atlanta on Wednesday, April 25. Go figure. I'll make the Houston show with around 20 Baton Rouge Parrot Heads.

Is Sonny still playing with Jimmy? According to Sonny's website he is playing at the HOB on Friday, NOJF and then in Lafayette, LA on Saturday, and then back to the RnB on Sunday. Kind to hard to fit a Saturday show at the Pizza Hut in Dallas into that schedule. That said, I guess it doesnt mean Jimmy won't be playing with Sonny......

But he hasn't been in town for Fest for two consecutive years anytime in the recent past.

We were talking about this board, and the Pizza Hut gig and Jimmy showing at JF and of course Crossroads. I got the distinct impression that Sonny is playing Pizza Hut (but maybe that's another time. I do well in conversations until I remember that I'm talking to Sonny Landreth, but I think I'm getting better at it. :D ), and a confirmation that JB is showing at JF on Saturday. I didn't think of the HOB show but I'll try to find out on Friday.
I'm thinking the R'n'B show Wednesday is likely. That's just a feeling, though and not a confirmation or anything.
Sonny will be playing with JB throughout the spring & summer. Oh, and he got a very pretty new red & white guitar, and there's 4 smokin' new songs. :D

I am seeing Sonny regardless of who is with him-Ace, Sanjay and William Hung could be playing with that cat and I would still check it out.

I think David Ranson & Mike Burch with Sonny would be a much better musical performance, though.
But throw in Michael Ducet and that drummer from the Red Beans & Rice and I would be in heaven. (No offense to Mike Burch)
Oh, I got confused on the show at Pizza Hut. It's the show in Houston, not the one in Dallas.

Yep, Jimmy's concert is in Houston Minute Maid Park 4/21, Atlanta Philips Arena 4/25 and Frisco/Dallas Pizza Hut Park 4/28. Gotta love that he's got his own plane to hop around in from city to city!
One of the NO Parrot Heads was at the Anheuser Distributors convention in NO a couple weeks ago and posted her up-close pictures, including several of Sonny (39-42, 56). http://pg.photos.yahoo.com/ph/phoenixofneworleans/album?.dir=/63e9re2

Damn, I knew I should have stayed longer on my last trip. The AB conventioneers were coming in as I was leaving. As many of them as were in my hotel, I could have picked up a ticket for sure. :D

No info on a release date but it sounds like late this year or early next year. I think they're still rehearsing it, but he is doing 4 of the new songs on the tour right now, and playing with the new red & white Sonny Landreth model Strat. The audience reaction to the new songs has been spectacular.
Not bad for a guy with 13 fans. :D

Jimmy has been know to do JF several years in a row. We use to see him walking around or up on the side stage on years he wasn't sch. He loves New Orleans & JF.
