I know folks have already posted about this "special guests" tour; I just wanted to add my .02 worth, and encourage anyone who gets the chance to get out and see/hear them.
The guys from Galactic (and the excellent opening group, T-Bird and the Breaks, whose horns did some time back up with Galactic and their guests) hung around and signed merch afterwards, too.
I bought "ya-ka-may" on vinyl, because I just couldn't help myself.
As always, I took a few pictures (and a short video test clip); see some of the show at http://www.flickr.com/photos/fantailmedia/4507476032/in/set-72157604247996785/ .

Check the set list pic; you'll have to look upside down:-).
Cyril did 'No more Okey Doke" (spl?). Love'd his version; more used to Ivan and the Dumpsta' take on it.

That Drummer Guy's schedule is almost (more than?) as busy as George Porter Jr's during fest! I love it that my favorite musicians play so frequently. I just saw that the Stanton Moore Trio will be at LMF on Wed 'tween. Now, I'm sure that's been on the grids for months, but I just missed it. I think I might jump off the plane and go straight there. Almost time!!!!!

Hey, do you go to the Pgh Bluesfest? I've been the last 2 years. If the lineup is as good as it's been lately, I'll be back again this year!

Thank you for this! I was there and haven't seen any local coverage of the (GREAT) show. This was the 5th time I'd seen Galactic and thought it was the best yet! Cyril and Corey really added something.
Quick question though - you mentioned the "Setlist Picture"...I don't see one. Any help with the setlist would be appreciated, thanks!

Thanks to everyone who enjoyed the pics, and my images in general. I don't play (anymore), and having the opportunity to document some of the great music we go out to see/hear is my only real creative outlet these days. Some of the images I got last year in NOLA were real highlights for me personally.
The set list image is at http://www.flickr.com/photos/fantailmedia/4508543312/ . You'll have to invert/enlarge it. I'm not a set list collector (but the guy who elbowed up and grabbed it, before the band was actually done and without asking, on the pretense of taking a picture IS a jerk, in my opinion).
My partner has taught me the importance of asking permission; I just appreciate the opportunity to hear great music, and occasionally meet the folks whose work I admire.
peace, love and bar-b-que:-)

I posted a couple more pics from the Galactic show, including a fun shot of Corey Henry playing through the crowd (and compliments of a wireless mic, he could actually play WITH the band, until he rejoined them ON the stage).
As seen at http://www.flickr.com/photos/fantailmedia/4520520709/ .
Again, I'm glad folks enjoy the shots; it's my way of sharing with people who couldn't be there (and I love it when other people do the same, like the links I saw earlier to cool video clips, such as the FQF stuff with Monk and Anders).

The show was fanfunkintabulous. They did 5 songs from ya ka may-heart of steel, wild man, you don't know, cineramascope and i think boe money. corey does bring out the best in the galactic boys and cyril funked it up just right. Cedric and Lightnin Malcolm had a great set too. they've grown a lotmusically since isaw them last.

don't count out superbowl euphoria... the Brooklyn Bowl Snopocalypse Super Bowl Champions show was off the freaking hook, chain, table, desk, floor, it was offa everything. I actually liked it better than the Terminal 5 show. I can only imagine how much tighter they are after touring on it for nearly three months.
Is this a bad time to say I'm so bummed we missed out on tickets to the 5/1 show? Man.
