The Crownseekers are pretty amazing....as well as the Zion Harmonizers. They usually are later in the day though so I always find FOMS is brutal for that time of day. I usually hit the gospel tent early in the day to get a fix, it's not too busy in there yet either. The good thing is I hear they expanded the tent and added more chairs? Am I right about this guys?

The Contemporary Crafts section is right next to the Gospel tent. I don't think that I have ever walked past and stopped to listen for a bit and been disappointed. I am not a gospel expert, but it is great seeing people "goin' to church" every time I pass. What I'm saying is stop in when you need a break from the other "must sees" and I don't think you will be sorry!;) ...my $.02

....drifting back for a spell........
Belle: I have been showing in Contemporary for 26 years! I will have a booth out there 2nd weekend (they only give us one:mad: ). When are you coming down??? I will have a TH meet-up at my studio (Rosetreefest) on Wed 'tween days. I will be working the first Friday in my studio, also Thursday if you are in that early.. Saturday will be off (and you'll be festin') and Sunday for me is Ms. Lena's and BNAs.
My studio is open to the public and we are always happy to have THs in at any time of the year! We are very Threadhead friendly!!!!:D

Belle, his studio is awesome and his work is to DIE for!! Totally worth making the trip if you can't see him at fest. I think RT gives a threadhead discount but I'm not completely sure so I don't want to speak for him....RT?

Friday's hours are 9-5, but I'm usually there until 7. Hmmmm, I usually go in on Sat afternoons to load glass, but I might shift my time to the morning so 1st weekenders can come ova before Fest if they want to.
I will be posting a new thread in a couple of weeks giving the information about Rosetreefest to newcomers and others who have questions. I'd like to be accommodating to as many Threadheads as possible:D

Ooooo, you're good....Yes, I give a TH discount at the studio---20%. I can't do it at the Fest 'cause it gets awkward between Threadheads and "civilians"..."why are they getting a discount...blah, blah, blah"....maybe I can figure something out to give it at the Fest also....what about that secret handshake??? Any ideas?????

I think you should keep it 'regular' at the Fest - you don't want any controversy brewin' and besides, it is a business -make all you can at the fairgrounds. You could take TH orders at the fairgrounds and do the rest later. As a TH who is going to buy something from you I want you to be able to have maximum exposure to those from out of town who don't participate on this board etc. know what I mean? That's just my opinion - I could window shop at the fairgrounds, leave you an order and my CC number and then you could process it after the fest or on the Monday after the weekend......

That sounds like a good suggestion too! That way I can have it shipped properly.

my friends are a very kissy-huggy group. big difference between friend kisses & foreplay kisses. unless there's been a lot of drinking, then the difference gets smaller. (i need a kissy smile to put here)
i'll give you the generic, 'damn glad to meet you' handshake. i don't want to be no co-respondent.
John Lee and the Heralds of Christ, Dynamic Smooth Family, McDonogh #35 Gospel Choir, Crownseekers, Gospel Soul Children, Zulu Gospel Ensemble, One A Chord, Zion Harmonizers, Jo Cool Davis, The Mighty Chariots.
Also on the 2nd Saturday, Irma Thomas' tribute to Mahalia Jackson.

An absolute must see (for me) is Elder Baab & the Madison Bumble Bees of Winnsboro.... Check out how high they are rated on the music list put out by the Fest Organizers on the 2nd Saturday.... and to make matters almost too easy for must see status,.. they are included for a second go round on the last day of fest....
Two chances to see a "must see",... who could ask for anything more??? Uhm,... could you also schedule Joss Stone twice please,.. just in case....

Oh yea, Z! Johnson Extension is amazing. Lots of good reports (including mine) on them & other great gospel groups in the main forum, under "gospel tent."
Great name. I used to roadie for a blues band called Endless Johnson.

I'll give a witness for the Crown Seekers (now billed as the Electrifying Crown Seekers and also The Rocks of Harmony...but, like Syracuse in the NCAAs, The Mighty Chariots of Fire have somehow been left off the schedule with no reasonable explanation given.

There was a band in Marathon Key, FL called Big D--k and the Extenders. I haven't been down there for about 10 years or so but might still be around.

That's so funny, brah! I read that this name is quite simply the result of the group being composed of the extended family of the Johnsons, but we definitely had some fun with the name last year.
Unfortunately, I'll miss them this year as I'll only be festing 2nd weekend.

How fitting to the drift in the thread...how did they take that name?
It is underlined on my daily! Thanks for the laughs guys and to the real help I got!
