Yola folks,
I'll be butthurt and flying into NOLA on a red eye with my girl. We'll be getting in at 730AM and dropping our junk off at our hotel in the Garden District, but cant take a nap until a little later in the day. You got any recommendations on a good breakfast spot Uptown or in the Quarter? I'm talking ham n eggs - y'no what I mean?

St. Charles Tavern - open 24/7. Neither Uptown nor Quarter, but between the two. Great comfort food. We hit this spot at least once each visit.

I know it might seem sacrilegious to some, but I highly recommend the breakfast buffet at the Casino. You can tie on a SERIOUS feedbag for a very reasonable price and you're in and out really quickly....

Betsy's Pancake House on Canal. The President ate there (W. Bush) & the waitress gave him a hard time! Like eating at Moms house. Someone waving their finger at you & telling you to behave. Great family run business.
There is always St. Charles Tavern on of course St. Charles.

I will throw in one of our favorties...The Old Coffee Pot 714 Saint Peter St and the corner of Royal.
Eggs Sardou are wonderful but I love their Eggs Jonathan....Benedict style with ham, oysters, tomatoes, sassy hollandaise served with grits or potatoes! Yummo
Right down the block from Pat OBriens. Get there early.

I'm with you, Belle. I love the Old Coffee Pot! Mena's not so much...
There's also a Lil' Dizzy's on this side of town at 610 Poydras inside the Whitney. And this place sounds yummy, too! Ruby Slipper 139 S. Cortez St., 504.309.5531
Addendum: I had a good breakfast at Cafe Fleur de Lis during Mardi Gras. Set up was strange, they find you a table after you order, but the food was good!

These are all good places. I've eaten at all of them. Unless things have changed, you can get a nice stuffed crawfish omelet made to order at the casino. I'll be at Mena's, probably, having my tasso and cheese omelet, since all my other breakfast haunts have pretty much closed.

Love Mothers. However the bloody was the worst one I've ever had. It was like they dumped the contents of an entire salt shaker in there. Couldn't even finish it. Hopefully it was just a fluke.

I love Mothers too...lineups not so much. Every time I've been there during the Fest there is a LONG lineup out the door, and I'm just not that patient. I have places to be, things to do!!!

..and I will second Surrey's! Another of my favorite breakfast places! The wait is hit or miss. I don't think I've ever waited more than about 10 minutes, but I've seen the line out the door just to put your name on the list...

I love Elizabeth's too, but I thought we were talking during the week. I also like Mother's, but the line can be stifling at times.

Cuzah location & time, Ima go with Surrys. Menu looks friggin awesome. We're staying at a B&B that is rumored to have killin' breakfasts, but I'm sure we'll get out to some others during our stay.
As always, you all friggin' rock.
