We are now accepting reservations for French Quarter Festival and Jazz Fest weddings. We offer Officiant / photography packages for all New Orleans festivals. Come get married at the greatest music festival on Earth! For a complete guide to getting married in New Orleans go to: www.RomanceinNewOrleans.com. See the pictures of the Parrot Head wedding I did at the Fairgrounds last year when Jimmy Buffett played.

Gospel Tent weddings shouldn't really be promised. Certainly people have been married at the Fest - at the Oak tree, at the flag pole, and in the Gospel tent. But the Festival also has rules about Festival weddings and anything that could interfere with the programming of the stage is something we tend to frown upon. Just keep this in mind.

As a 20+ YEAR, every day veteran of Jazz Fest, I have the utmost respect for the people who run things, and what's involved. For many years, at what is now the Acura Stage, I was one of the people that would climb the towers to cover the speakers when it started raining, not to mention protecting the sound board from over-zealous water sprayers. I never promise anything to my couples, just that I will get them married. Check out my website for pix of the Parrot Head wedding I did, It was Great!

When this happened, it was totally spontaneous. The couple were elopers from New Hampshire, and had the experience of a lifetime, thanks to the graciousness of the Gospel Tent stage crew. My ceremonies are always brief, and to the point, which I find a lot of people appreciate.
God Bless Jazz Fest!

Dude, we got it. You're looking for work.
You'd get a whole lot more response (from people other than yourself) if you engaged with this community a little bit, instead of continually bumping up your "billboard". http://www.clicksmilies.com/s1106/schlafen/sleeping-smiley-006.gif

Yup, what Jenn said. We're happy to get behind and support the causes of people who come here to engage with us; if you just stop by to sell and not chat, you're not going to get much response . . .

no - we can't 0- but if he is the only one posting - they will eventually listen to us and ask him to stop or maybe delete the thread...it is spamming...
I swear - I'm not going to post any more here - what you and jenn said is right on.

OK, I got the message!!! So allow me to introduce myself: While I may be a newbie to this whole computer/message board thing, I am definitely NOT new to Jazz Fest. If I have been gauche, please forgive me, I was doing what was suggested by an Admin to keep the thread alive. If any of you have actually visited my website, you would see that I am a tireless champion of all things New Orleans. I even invented the terms "Patriotourism/Patriotourist" (Google it) to describe what I have been observing in Our post-Katrina world. It ended up getting me a spot on WDSU's 6 On Your Side Live, and is now in the Wikipedia and Urban Dictionary. As a struggling small business person, I also do whatever I can to keep my business alive. I believe that I provide a vital service that draws a lot of business to New Orleans, which also spills over into a lot of other businesses. I have drawn people from as far away as New Zealand and Australia to come be married in New Orleans. As such I feel that I have made an extraordinary effort to keep our city alive, how 'bout you?

RevDon...as you partake more and more in the discussions here, you will not find a more concerned, caring and giving group on this planet. The people here make a fantastic effort to "keep our city alive". I am constantly amazed at what these people think of and do. Please don't get so defensive in your first few posts, give us/them some time, and you will love being part of the Threadhead Nation!

Hey, Rev!!
Thanks for jumping into the deep end with us zany Threadheads!! We are a bit nutty and not shy wallflowers (usually), but we are a supportive, loving, caring krewe and we all share your passionate love for Jazzfest, NOLA and all things pertaining thereof.
Having said that, we are a diverse bunch and encompass many views: religious, political and sexual; many of us also enjoy being bawdy and raucous - but there's not an evil or bad bone in any of these bodies.
We'd love to hear about your life, family, thoughts, feelings, and your opinions as a person - just a regular Reverend Joe, as it were. We won't bite (unless you want us to do so - just kidding) . . .
:D
P.S. - You do have a great website, if I ever get married again - it'll be number one on my planning list.

I love your site. Thanks! Now back to my question, do you do some renewal ceremonies? I would like to surprise him!!! Having some bumps in the last decades we have talked about it. Are you up for it? Email me at ltyler@adelphia.net if you are interested. I don't have to bring anything but the man, right?
Jazz fest will be the proper place. Heck we decided to marry after three days of the Dead!!! YooHoo

Oh yes there is:
1. Check the bored before you even go to the bathroom in the morning.
2. Warm up the index finger of your dominant hand to start the scrolling.
3. If at work and checking the bored, minimize the screen until you are feeling brazen and confident enough to let your co-workers and friends in on the addiction.
4. Chat with us at least once a day.
5. Never feel like any one is being mean, cause they aren't. Seems we can be an opiniated bunch.
6. Be prepared to meet up at the fest and get a free hug.
7. Be prepared to make life-long friends ( I plan on keepin the friend's I've met at JF and the new ones I've met here )
8. Know that you are now part of a large family extending all over the world.
9. Always have your sense of humor with you
10. Stop in the "bar" for happy hour
11. Share your love of NOLA and any info on the politics, culture, and people of NOLA.
12. Check the bored before you go to bed and keep us in your prayers!!!!!
:D

Hi Belle, Yes, I do vow renewals. If you explore my website, you'll see the info. As they take as much effort on my part as an actual ceremony, I have to charge the same. Have a look at my sample ceremonies for ideas, and if you want to come up with your own, that's cool too, I just need a copy in advance. you used to make up words all the time, back when you were drinking. ;)
i have known Don for 14 years. met him and the skybox gang, at the Rayban (Acura) stage, during the 2nd weekend mudfest of 1993. too many stories for just one post - it would require its own thread. i consider him my friend.

Bumping for the rev and to answer this question asked by revdon: As such I feel that I have made an extraordinary effort to keep our city alive, how 'bout you? If you go to www.threadheads.org or www.festaid.com, you can see a portion of the things many people who post here have "done". After the thing, many of us organized fund raisers, clothing, bedding and toy drives, and other events in our hometowns to help the Gulf Coast area, esp our beloved New Orleans. And again this year, we will have the annual patry and raffle to support NOMC. And we will work in the zulu diamondcutters beer tent to help our Ms. Lena. And a night show has been added to raise $ for three other new orleans charities, chosen by the musicians playing at the show.

Rev - from one NOLa native to another, welcome and join the party by coming to a threadhead meetup!!!!
We, (my wife Samantha and I) would love to attend any Threadhead events we can. Our lives are a bit hectic, renovating 2 houses, trying to run our businesses and raising an 11 year old son, but please DO alert me when you've got something planned. I must say that you all have been operating under my radar for quite a while, and I thought I was pretty up on things going on around here. Must be that "Life-in-the-way" thing. We try to attend the Saturdays at the LA Music Factory when we can, and we always do our best to make the Wednesdays at The Square events, (Which is where we met), so maybe we can "bump" into some of you at those as well? The cruise ship weddings have been cramping our style a bit, but soon we'll only have the Fantasy in port, as the other 2 are heading north for the summer. Keep me posted!

OK, so I'm bumping myself. Due to the # of hits that my post has been getting, I wanted to make sure that anyone interested in getting married at Jazz Fest had the info, and now that the cubes are out, people can now make their plans. The best times are, of course, in between acts. The only day that I have a very limited availability is the 5th. For complete info and scheduling, please visit www.RomanceinNewOrleans.com
