Thanks Fred. Just blocked off that weekend for a return trip. Now I have to start earning chits on the homefront...

Wow !! Good spot Fred. That's great news for me as I'm considering a trip to Helena AR for the King Biscuit fest the previous weekend. Would fit nicely.

I hope to see both of you for Blues Fest. Thanks to swag we have tickets for ACL the weekend before. I'm not sure what were doing. ACL, Blues or both.

This was on my to do list, but I think I gotta swap it out for the Ponderosa Stomp.
Doesn't it just suck to have to make those tough choices :D

Hope it's a small one, I'm tired of battling conventioneers for hotel rooms.

From ScottAiges on another thread.
10/12 Anders with Stanton's band.
Saw Anders with the Galactic rhythm section at the House of Blues for the OffBeat Beat of the Beat awards in January - on fire is right! Yes, heavy, intense - and great. We had Anders on the Blues & BBQ Fest within the past year or two, but it was so great that we knew we needed to get him back this year. Ran into Stanton Moore the next day, who said his trio (with Robert Walter playing B3 and bass pedals) is even more intense. So that's what we've got: Anders with Stanton's band. They'll play on the main stage on Sunday, Oct. 17. More talent to be announced soon - and I think you'll be pleased.

That is one hell of a lineup for free. As of today I'm 100% subject to change. I would drive in from Mississippi on Saturday morning and leave out Monday am.
Otis Taylor!!!! with Jonn Richardson from Houston on guitar.

Now that I'm all excited and everything, I went back and looked at the discussion of last year's event. Great summary by Scott here. (http://www.nojazzfest.com/chat/showpost.php?p=288742&postcount=62) I got particularly excited about these two statements,
The food was great, though. Especially the crawfish sausage from Vaucresson, Papa Joe's ribs and Walker's smoked chicken salad. Next year, we'll add at least six more food vendors and get the grills running the day before.
YUMMMMMMMM!!!!
Now, how about a special VIP area for contributors to the Threadhead Records fund?
Very interesting idea, Scott!

From the same post...
Speaking of beverage, we could'a, should'a had more than just Miller Lite. Definitely will have Pilsner, Blue Moon, MGD and hopefully Abita next year. Still, we sold more than twice as much beverage as we did last year - a very good thing for us since we have no ticket sales revenue.
Just Pricelined the Hilton Riverside for $60/night. It was my first bid adding that zone (Convention Center and Warehouse-Arts), after bids of $55 and $60 were not accepted with only FQ and Downtown zones, so you might even be able to get the Hilton for less. Dates are: check-in 10/15; check-out 10/18.
Now for the flights...and convincing another newbie to come along for the trip.
See y'all there.
Trying not to think about the potential of being at Drago's and not having oysters available...
Whoo boy. Newbie is in. Happy Father's Day to me. He is the one guy I've been dying to bring to New Orleans. This is gonna be great. Gonna add another night now...

Crap. Now it's gonna be crowded. :D
According to Pollstar, Jon Cleary is playing the Crescent City Blues & BBQ on Saturday, October 16th. A good thing just got better.
Any guesses when the stage schedules (cubes?) come out?
You can add the Honey Island Swamp Band to the Saturday line-up.
