Caught a WWOZ interview Friday w/ Bill Summers discussing his new 'Jazsalsa'
project as an extension above & beyond 'Los Hombres Caliente'. Went to see 'em Sat night @ Blue Nile & was totally blown away. SIZZLING Latin grooves via a smokin' hot 10 pc ensemble including guitar, bass, keys, trumpet, sax, trombone, sweet-voiced chick singer, all driven by phenomenal percussion by a Cuban on timbales, a wicked African drummer & drum master Summers on a quadruple set of congas. In a town of extraordinary music, this was truly exceptional. Catch 'em if you can ;^)
