Nature report:
Went to bed early and got up early this morning to do some bird spotting.
Backyard, the usual. Mockingbirds, Blue Jays, Red-bellied Woodpecker, Chickadees, and a cute little Carolina Wren.
Went to the park a few blocks away; got a pine warbler, Yellow-rumped (Myrtle) Warbler, Big Ass Red Tail Hawk, Night Heron, and extra special a White-throated Sparrow.
Things were going great until 8:02am when the alarms started going off. Work basically sucked large. But it's over now.

Best of the day, was a hug and kiss from momma this afternoon. If she only knew how bad I need a spanking... Oh well.

And then I got a call from grisgris. I'm feeling extra special for that one.

I was worn out after work, didn't want to cook, so I did Popeye's. Spicy chicken strips, RB&R, and a couple of biscuits which I'll eat later with butter and raspberry preserves. Mmmmmm.
Did you ever accidentally drop your chicken strip into the beans and rice, and then when you pulled it out it was just covered bean and ricey stuff. And then you have to eat it.
I hate it when that happens...

(S)he starts singing around 4-4:30 in the morning on the terrace of the building behind me (she shows up around April, just when it starts to get warm enough to sleep with all the windows open). I always wake up with a smile and listen to her. During the day, she tries to sing like a blue jay, but those guys have such scratchy voices that she sounds too darned pretty--kind of like when an opera singer tries to sing a pop song.
I also have the occasional red tailed hawk that rests up on an old TV antennae outside my kitchen window, sometimes stopping to snack on a mousie...
