How active is this bored during JF? I can envision getting back to my hotel at 3:30am, checking this bored, and picking up some newly discovered hot tips for the coming day. Is this gonna happen?

Oh, wow. You should've seen it last year after Fats cancelled and Lionel Ritchie took his place. This thing was rollin'.!!! You'll definately see tips about the coming days. First weekend, there will be lots of 2nd weekenders on here whining about not being there. (I'll be 1st in line on those posts!) You'll also see reviews of the past days/nights activities. It definately doesn't shut down!

So if you anticipate having to track somebody down, don't depend on the bored...get a cell phone number or two. And it takes time to travel and get there and set up (for us Left Coasters..we lose a whole day on da plane)You won't be checking your email as often as you think...you'll be too tired, too hurried or too drunk.And remember .... sometimes cell phones don't work at large festivals or concerts...but text messaging might work better. Just don't leave your hook plans till the last minute.One more thing....make "what if" plans with your fellow travelers. Like if we get lost, check at the Virgin records tent every hour on the hour....it may sound weird...but it gives you a sense of freedom knowing you have aplan.

One more thing....make "what if" plans with your fellow travelers. Like if we get lost, check at the Virgin records tent every hour on the hour....it may sound weird...but it gives you a sense of freedom knowing you have aplan.
Excellent advice, but I'm sure you meant Ms. Lena's Beer tent not the record tent! Also have a permanent meeting spot after fest -- I use the statues -- "so if we still don't find eachother, meet at the statues (every day) after the last note is played on the last stage."

I don't know about this year, but we did have a message board (cork) installed behind the tent where people could leave messages. Of course now there are threadheads manning all shifts at the beer tent, so passing things along that way could work.

I've never posted while at fest, but now I have this Q-Phone which has the ability to get on from anywhere I happen to be! so let's see how it works (I'm on it now)

I'll pack the laptop for use at the hotle, but it'll stay there for quick email checks and JF updates (that MRG and I don't get at the beer tent, that is!;) )
