I know you guys!! I just showed my newbie this show as well as our weekend schedule and he got a little pale. It was hilarious! He said well we get in Thursday night and after travelling, it'll be good to just sit and have a couple of beers. I said to him "Are you on crack?? You sat on your ass all day- in the airport and on the plane! You're only here for 4 days....you're gonna catch the vibe of the quarter in about 2 seconds flat and you're gonna wanna fly...repeat after me...I can sleep when I'm dead...I can sleep when I'm dead". He looked even more pale after that pep talk! :) They're gonna love it, I know it. He was a bass player in a metal band in the 80's and he's a big music head. Silly rabbit...he has no idea :)

Corona, let me tell ya' girl. We've had a rockin' good time the last 36 hours or so. It's gotten to the point now where all I can do is laugh. I may have to paint the walls & re-carpet my entire upstairs......I've been washing clothes & sheets & towels for 2 days trying to keep things sanitized. This stuff is supposedly highly contagious.
The good news is that they're starting to eat and with any luck at all, it'll be off to school with them tomorrow and mama's gonna' sleep all day!! (I just told someone on Sunday how healthy my kids are. Should've known better!)

This show is helping me to plan the rest of my weekend. I KNOW if we do this on Friday night, there's no way in Hell we'll be able to keep up with Cowboy Mouth on Sat. night. I've been trying to decide between them and Corinne Bailey Rae. I think her laid back easy sound will be way more my speed after this on Friday and the Fest all day Saturday. Then back for more up tempo stuff at Tips on Sunday night. Now if I could just buy the damn tickets!!!

Wow, you got to the site? I can't even get that far. I'm going to the Howlin' Wolf site and it just says the site is under construction. I would buy tickets to this if I could get to the site. I may call the HW later today and see if they'll sell 'em to me over the phone.

Oh, ok. Now I see. I got there, and no, I don't see a way to buy the VIP tix either. I'm not sure it'd be worth the $100.00 extra bucks by the time I buy two of 'em anyway. as long as the VIP area is NOT at the front of the stage then I'll get regular tix but would love to buy a poster. Do you know if they sell them? Do you remember if the couch platform to the left of the stage was open to the public? That was a nice place to see from when it got too packed....
My dream last night.....at Howling Wolf, trying to watch the show, surrounded by people trying to push through the crowd in different directions, all around me were these 7 ft tall supermodel looking chicks in gowns and I couldn't see a thing but these girls and I couldn't breathe and get out of the crowd. Ugggh....psychologists would have a field day with this one lol! All I know is I hope it's not jammed like last time I was there. It was almost as bad as CAC for the Meters.

Hey, I don't have those dreams, they actually happen to me, how's that for freak flag thinking! I won't buy tickets on the floor of an arena concert for the reason that I am usually shorter than all the people in front of me. So maybe VIP is not the way to go for this one, and perhaps putting the money into VIP at IAC is a better idea. I'll put some thought, and probably money, into that decision over the weekend. Think Howlin Wolf will sell out right away?

ya think so bro? After reading about the VIP area...I'm thinkin' it isn't really worth it....plus if I don't have to get there til 9:00 (there is no way they'll start on time right?) then I have time for a quick shower and to eat the food I bring home from fest....that night it will likely be a cochon de lait po-boy, Zapp's chips and Abita....wanna see what the cubes say for that day too as we could potentially leave fest a bit early to beat the cab line...

What if you miss something really good? I think I need to sit down for this...
Okay - here is a hint.
When you leave the fairgrounds walk three blocks (Now - I know that your feet ain't feelin that at the moment - but work with me) up Grand Route St. John over to the bayou - where the cabs actually line up. I saw a few people doing that last year and it seemed to work out really well.....

Well, I'm DEFINITELY gonna be there for this one! It will be my first night in town, and I know I'll have enough fumes in the tank to at least make through a few Papa Grows Funk tunes before I hit the wall!
As for the VIP area, I was backstage for this gig last year and that is probably where it is. There are a bunch of overstuffed sofas and cushions back there, and it is actually a pretty nice respite from the crowds...and it is cool. (Not "hip" cool, but "chilly" cool :>) I would definitely do the VIP thing provided the money is going to a good cause because I won't be at IAC this year...sniff. I can do without the poster or the laminate, but we'll see.
Does anyone know where the proceeds are going (i.e.a charity), or is this just a big mercenary show?

Does anyone know where the proceeds are going (i.e.a charity), or is this just a big mercenary show?
ooh, ooh, if you do the VIP Ross and don't want the poster, please let me buy it from you!! Think about it k?

Lis, if I do decided to do the VIP, the poster is all yours..no cash required. I would rather part with the poster than to buy a new house to accommodate the ones that I have!
