Don't have a link, but here is an portion of the article about Susan Cowsills album. The article in the Post is by Nancy Dunham

"Now with funding from Neworleans-based group the Threadheads, Cowsill has recorded her second album.

The organization which also underwrote other albums by New Orleans musicians, began as a group of jazz-fest buddies who would hold private playing parties for local artists, Cowsill said

The label formed when members of the Threadheads nudged area musicians to make records and were continually told that no money was available."

Congrats Guys

No answer here, but the songs that I have heard are very good...one is with Jackson Browne.
They are trying to get it just right, so we have to be patient....

I just keep thinking how much funding has been tied up for so long on both of the projects. Time to roll over!

There's only so much tweaking that should have to be done ... either it's good or it's not. Seems like a missed opportunity ..... doing a live show without CD's for sale.

I think that it also has to do with getting the right musicians, and the right producers, etc....I know that she had to wait for Jackson Browne....

(I'm not making excuses, I want to see the CD too!)

I listened to the live feed of their show last night and she mentioned they're looking at a March release. FWIW

Thanks. That would be good timing for Fest (which I'm guessing is the goal). BTW, how/where did you get the live feed for that show?

It was on www.mvyradio.com, but I couldn't get the stream to work.

Thanks. That's ironical. Besides WWOZ (and WEVL for two hours on Friday evenings), MVY is the only other station I stream. But I am usually seasonal about it. I listen to MVY from late spring through Labor Day, and WWOZ almost all the rest of the time.

One of the true pioneers of the AAA radio format. Great station. I remember being blown away when I first starting listening to it when I started visiting the Vineyard almost 25 (gulp!) years ago. They still do a great job, albeit a good deal more predictable now that they, like most other non-public stations, work off of playlists for much of their shows. Their best free format show is "Blues @ 8," an hour of great blues every weeknight, focused around a theme. Their live broadcasts are also very good.

It would be great to get Lighthouse released, and the re-mixed Just Believe It. I wait as patiently as everyone else. I think it's hurting them more than helping them to not release it soon.

Not to speak for anyone else, but I believe Susan's second album (Lighthouse) will be out soon i.e. right after the first of the year. I can't wait to hear it, too!
