he's a new orleans guy and has enjoyed more commercial success than most nola artists in recent years. I first heard him on kfog, a major san francisco radio station when we were living out there. sounds like a blast!! Call me green with envy!!

thank you very much for the thread tab... glad to hear you were all out enjoyin' yourselves in such a grand fashion..

personally stayed in last night to watch the Yankees play game 1... i'm sure i had nowhere near as much fun as you all did,.. but it wasn't a bad night considerin' the outcome of the game... the numerous glasses of celebratory wine are still havin' a say today...

as i mentioned in these parts some months back,.. i was hoping to get marc broussard to play somewhere in the sarasota area either just before,.. or soon after he was scheduled on a cruise thing out of tampa this winter,.. but his people wanted absurd money for one night...

your post got me lookin' at his schedule again,.. and what do you know he's playin' in the french quarter the evenin' of nov 7th,.. at one eyed jacks...

now,.. i may struggle to be smarter than a 5th grader at times,. but there is no way possible for that joint to pay him the sort of money they insisted they needed/wanted....

Call me green from dinking and staying out too late!

You and I kept thinking of leaving and then would start dancing all over again. What a night.

Then the Yanks win when all of us were at Pinch Bar going nuts. It felt like the damn World Series win when we were all singing Frank Sinatra.

I know Kerry, we really should have had someone take a photo of all us.

I think her dancing into people and acting like a total dance floor hog is what gets many of us nuts. Not to mention having mouthfuls of her hair when I am trying to just enjoy the music. Not fun having beer spilled all over you when Anat comes smashing into you.

She needs to be caged.

Okay - that is the funniest line - ever..........

It was a great show on Friday night.

Fun to hang out with all of the THs in attendance and I agree - there must have been about 25 of us.

We got home about 3am - wish we could have stayed until the end -next time, definitely.

I am of the opinion that it is NEVER good karma to throw wads of wet newspaper at anyone under any circumstances, much less a fellow music lover at a Bonarama show.
Would we tolerate that behavior from our children, or accept that excuse from them ?? "sure little Johnny, it is alright to throw wet wads of newspaper at your fellow classmates, but only the ones you deem to be really annoying". I wonder if the principal would but that.

She is not there to groove to the music, she is there to make a spectacle of herself. Folks are there to see the act on stage, not to see her or be jostled by her.

Gold star for the first half of that statement !! Karma is like a boomerang.

Katy is/was a Deadhead. I wonder how big a cage she would need to imprison the Spinners.
For the record I have been guilty of dirty dancing and even spilled a beer or two. If anyone throws wads of wet newspaper at me I'm gonna open up a can of whoop ass on em. Caveat emptor ( "I love that phrase, would be a good band name" ).

Agreed Belle, but no one deserves to have wads of wet newspaper thrown at them at a Bonarama show, even Anat.
We do not know her story. Maybe she needs medication ?? Maybe her spastic dancing is a way to deal with all the negative energy people throw her way ??? I am not saying she is not a head case, I'm saying we should act as mature adults for our own Karma and for the Karma at the show.

OK ENUF.....WE WERE TALKING ABOUT THIS FABULOUS SHOW and now Anat is getting all attention AGAIN and it our fault!!! and she does not warrant this much attention!!!!

1) Of course on a crowded dance floor there is jostling but it is not the consistent disregard for the fact that there are other people enjoying a show that Anat brings with her. SHE WANTS TO BE THE SHOW!! and has little qualms about the fact that people came to see the Band. She truly often acts as if they are merely an accompainment to her shennanigins.

2)AS A FORMER OCCASSIONAL SPINNER...there is no comparison ....
You choose a space to dance in that has enough room to indulge yourself...to the sides at the back. How many arena shows was there a spinner in every lit exit ..looked very cool ..dancing and spinning was a YES activity of self indulgence and done away from other folks...If Anat would take her self away from front and center no one would be annoyed...when you ask her too Her response is always .....No sorry baby I cant because they love me???????

Sadly that disrespect can bring out the desire to break out that can of woop ass you so mentioned on the part of her victims. So the newspaper thing Maybe not mature was simply a much less aggressive way of venting...and one I am certian she had no awareness of ...

SO HOW ABOUT THE FACT THAT THEY PLAYED LOVELIGHT !! and GPjr did Share Your Love with Me ..a Maple Leaf moment indeed ..Mark Mullins ROCKS ..not that I requested anything or anything like that :)

Dear Greg,

You were not there and merely read that we threw wads of wet paper at her. Little do you know that there were at most two thrown in her direction and not one of them even got close to her. I was not a spinner but enjoyed seeing them and I believe Denise explained to you where they were dancing. They weren't in front of the stage spilling beers on people and swinging their hair into peoples eyes. BUT again, you weren't at the Bones show to see what really went on that night, so I don't feel that I need to defend myself to you any longer.
Perhaps Anat never bothered you because you are taller and her beautiful hair never got into your beer or your eyes.

Linda and I were harmless and all of this has gotten blown way out of proportion. There is no way I would have allowed Anat to take away my attention from such a great show just to throw paper at her all night. Just not happening....

Greg you seriously took my comment for whatever you wanted to without witnessing the event, knowing any of the facts and the two people involved. You may be better served on NOLA.com.

Frankly I was a little embarrassed last night but I'm over it. When do we stop tolerating rude behavior from others whether it's littering while standing next to a trash can, yelling on cellphones in public places, taking up two seats on crowded commuter trains or just making others feel uncomfortable by invading one's personal space. Sure, I could have handled Anat better and more direct but it wasn't possible in the venue and it wouldn't have made a difference and IT WAS MEANT TO BE FUNNY!

MY PEOPLE!!! How's everybody? So, I come on board to read and talk about Bonerama's NE tour and what to my wondering eyes should appear but (DUN DUH DUN DUN) talk of Anat. NO!

Bonerama has been killing on their 3 week Wed. night residency at Johnny D's in Somerville! Word is getting around, there were lots more people there the 2nd week than the 1st, and this Wed. is the last show. Get this: my drummer son Logan (who's now 21, WOOHOO), asked Mark Mullin if he could sit in for a song this Wed. and he said Yes, and suggested a couple o'tunes. Logan knows all their songs, loves them as much as me, has been practicing diligently with the 'bones on his Ipod, and is supremely cocky about his ability to jam with them. LOL, I can't wait, I'll be such a proud Mommy. Last week they brought up a local female trombone player (they're few and far between), an excellent singer who the week before did a killer version of Helter Skelter with them, and on their last song (before the encore) there were SIX trombones playing in synch up on stage. What a trip!! We're lucky that these shows have been starting and ending early - ~8:00pm to 11:00.

Me and Logan will see y'all at JF10 - me for all 11 days to make up for missing this year, and him for the 2nd five days.
