Just heard from a friend who saw U2 in Atlanta last week, and he told me it was absolutely amazing.........
He is not even a particularly big fan of thier music (he was in Atlanta visiting friends who were going) but said that the show is one of the best concerts he has been to in the last several years.
Windowman, Fred, hope you have a great time!!!

I saw U2 at MSG in NYC in May 2005 - similar story, never had been a really big fan of their music but went along anyway - and was blown away - just a great great concert.

The DFW show was last night, at the new Cowboys stadium. I didn't make it, but the reviews are surprising. Our local sports talk station does a lot of music talk, a few of the hosts are actually in bands, and many of them went to the show last night.
The morning guys loved it. All enjoyed themselves, and one proclaimed it his favorite concert ever. But just now, the pm drive time guys panned it. They said it was over-produced, over-orchestrated, used prerecorded backing tracks, that there was no sponteneity, the band didn't connect wth the audience, and one proclaimed it his worst concert ever.

Having had friends who have worked on their tours, review #2 sounds pretty accurate to me. But, a review doesn't really mean shit if you enjoy the show.
Since the ice has been broken I'll toss in my $.02
I downloaded the 10-9 show from Dime. It's not bad, but not as good as the tours I've seen in the past. Just didn't sound or feel heartfelt. Mix didn't sound as rich as usual either. Of course I wasn't there, so maybe my review is not valid. I do know I was expecting to feel sad about missing the tour, but I am not.

I'll share my thoughts when I get back to town. I have seen full shows twice before, in Baton Rouge in 1988 and in the Superdome in 1997. Loved the first, unimpressed by the second. Also saw short appearances at the Super Bowl and the re-opening of the dome doing "The Saints Are Coming" with Green Day, an electric performance. After all of The Edge's efforts to help out here post-K, I was surprised there was no N.O. show. I am curious to see what my 15yr-old has to say after the show.

I thought it was a great show. There was some prerecorded keyboard on a few songs, but nothing beyond what I have heard at many arena shows. U2 was able to play for sixty or seventy thousand people, connect with them and play vital music new and old. They seemed truly excited about their visit to NASA and performed with a great deal of energy. The stage is remarkable in that it enables people sitting hundreds of feet away to feel connected to the performance. If they are faking sincerity, it was not apparent to many people in Houston. Hearing all those people singing "I still haven't found what I'm looking for" was a telling moment to me. My last stadium show was also U2 and I was not at all impressed with the PopMart tour in '97 (with free tickets!), but U2 360 was worth the time and trouble and more. If they play in the U.S. next year, I would consider going again. Of course, they won't need the space station at the Fair Grounds:D
