When do the nominees get announced?

The Recording Academy will unveil the nominees for its 52nd annual Grammy Awards on Dec. 2, once again announcing the honors with a prime-time concert special on CBS. Performers and presenters for the nominee concert, which will air live from downtown's Club Nokia for the East Coast at 8 p.m., have not yet been announced. The Grammy Awards will take place on Jan. 31, 2010, at the Staples Center.

Nice shoutout from Jan in today's weekly beat.

GRAMMY SEASON

We recently received an email reminding NARAS members who vote on the Grammys to remember Threadhead recordings including those by Glen David Andrews, Alex McMurray, Shamarr Allen and Paul Sanchez and John Boutte. We'll add to that and suggest that voters keep their eyes open for artists from New Orleans and Louisiana. Baton Rouge bluesman Henry Gray is also in consideration for the awards.

GRAMMY KARMA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ok..NOW I have the dream...it foretells an early XMAS for Threadhead Records. At least two nominees. Which, if true, would make the Grammys finally relevant.

If it was based on quality of the music, and if they had a lot of exposure around the country, I'd feel really good about these albums being nominated. As we all know, these are great albums. But lacking exposure, the chances aren't great for being nominated....but it's like running for political office....you can't win unless you run. So we're running.

..... - good music always seems to find its way to the top....hopefully the THR artists will have gained just the right amount of exposure to get a Grammy nod (and a win !!!).

Finger crossed....

Won't the nominations bring some exposure? I don't mean shoot them to #1, but don't people seek out some of the unknowns on the nominations list?
