Drinking for fun & to help the free clinic!!
On Saturday, October 3rd, the Market’s upper deck will be transformed into a beer hall, featuring over 50 varieties from across the globe. Fermented brews of Belgium and Germany, England, Holland, and Australia, to name but a few, all right here in California’s favorite Farmers Market. Add to this many of the craft beers made in the US and you have a list that is a connoisseur’s delight. Brew-masters will be on hand to explain the art and techniques used in the beer making process and, of course, to offer samples for tasting. Marcel has, once again, promised a fine selection of cheeses and, along with delicious German sausage provided by Market butcher, Huntington Meats, will offer suggestions for beer and food pairings. There will of course be live music making this an event not to be missed.
The Beer Tasting Fest begins at 1pm, throughout the afternoon until 5, with a raffle drawing at 4. Tickets may be purchased at Marcel Gourmet Market for $20 in advance (or $25 at the Farmers Market Upper Deck, on the day).
A portion of the proceeds for this event will be donated to The Saban Free Clinic.
Founded in 1967, The Saban Free Clinic (formerly The Los Angeles Free Clinic) has been providing free, quality health care, dental care and social services to the most vulnerable members of our community. Celebrating 42 years of service, the Clinic’s four locations will provide over 90,000 patient visits this year to those who need its services the most.
