Our kids were raised listening to PP&M on the reel-to-reel. Those were some of the first songs they learned and fell asleep to.

Music speaks louder than words
It's the only thing that the whole world listens to.
Music speaks louder than words,
When you sing, people understand.

Thank you for the music, Mary. We did understand.

Me and the kids were singing Puff the Magic Dragon waiting for the bus this morning. We have been singing that song together since they were born.

RIP Mary...lost another too young.

When your life has been totally absorbed by music like mine has been, there is a place where this obsession began. The first music I remember past nursery rhymes is Peter, Paul and Mary. My oldest sister came back from college with their album, and all the songs became part of my life. I was six.

PP&M was the first group I remember from early childhood, before the Beatles. We sang 'Puff' in grade school...if they only knew!

My school in the late 60's had a lot of young teachers (Manhattan PS). Quite a few young men who were probably getting many, many degrees to avoid the draft.
