Happy Birthday Amy -- you might not feel like celebrating today, but I hope you and Jeff will plan something nice for the weekend. Also hoping this is not one of those birthdays with a zero on the end...not my favourite! Big hugs to you and Jeff.

That's why I created my own birthday holiday, The Twelve Days of Lisa - because, quite frankly, others around me were not putting forth the desired levels of celebration . . . so I figured, "Funk It! I'll just do it myself!" :D

So, I've been celebrating The Twelve Days of Lisa beginning on Dec. 1, each day until Lisa Eve on the 12th and the BIG DAY on the 13th (remember, National Ice Cream and Violins/St. Lucia's Day).

I highly recommend it to you fellow Festers and Threadheads - just create your own damn holidays and celebrate the shiznick out of yourselves - you all deserve it!!!

Love and hugs to you all, who were so rudely ignored on your birthdays . . .

Wasn't it a kick ass show!!! I guess the Bay Area THeads' modus operandi is to gather up at the "right front" (as you face the stage), sorry i dint know beforehand to let ya's know. I had a fabulous time in the Bay Area over the weekend, collecting on hugs and threadhead lovin!! (and yes, Sacripintina cake from Stella Pastry!)

It WAS a kick-ass show - Matt Mullins is a golden god!!! I was dancin' on the benches against the wall on his side of the stage near the door and had the BEST band's eye view, not but 20 ft away from them!!

Yah, I was bummed though that I couldn't find y'all - I don't usually try to cram in the front of the stage when I'm alone - smallish kittens can get stepped on up there without escort to help block for them ;)

I'm so glad you had fun in the Bay Area - and I'll have to owe you a hug at Fest!!! :D

He was in a musical trance...and man did he play his heart out!

We were right under Ivan Neville, and YES, it was smooshy in the front and gettin trampled was very possible...a cute as a button gal that was hangin with us, got nailed as the drunk dancing frenetically lost his balance and landed on her twice....whatta LOUT!! We grabbed her and pulled more towards our side. yeesch!

Oh yeah...we'll be catching up in NOLA!!

Well, I did have my hair down - not in braided pigtails as I usually do at Fest (so I may have looked somewhat different) and was wearing a "Got Beignets" t-shirt and many beads, as I had been lucky enough to hook up with the friend of El's who had brought them from Mardi Gras in NOLA.

I had gotten there before doors opened and just grabbed a spot that seemed like a good one - I didn't know about the traditional T-head location.

No worries though - we'll catch up anon!! :D

They were all off the hook, but Mark - especially on that blazing cover of Purple Haze - he had George standing back in wonderment and joy at his mad skills on the 'bone!!!

Good for you for saving the cutie from the drunken lout - good on ya T-heads!!! :)

You know it's been really great - I've been having The 12 Days of Lisa for about 4-5 years now and it removes any disappointment or expectations that don't end up fulfilled. Not to mention, I've had some of my good friends and even Denbear really got into it and they now help observe this new holiday!

I would love to hear about a 12 Days of Jenn (or anyone else for that matter) - if you do, let me know and I'll put it on my holiday calendar :) ;)

The 12 days of Jenn will commence on March 15th, at which time I will throw a TH dinner for those in town for St. Paddy's day. I shall celebrate everyday thereafter untill Jenn Eve on March 25th, ending with the BIG day on March 26.

This year on 3/25 there is a fundraiser at the zoo for the LA/SPCA called Dog Day Afternoon, so we'll go to that on Jenn eve. :)
