I'll bet Ma'oz Tzur would be pretty ripping, if you sped it up a bit and blasted it on trombone & sousaphone...

Whooo hoooooo, I've contributed. Hey, Chris, I'm not sure if I designated my contribution as Threadhead Christmas, but that is what it was for. Thanks for all you do.

Effin' awesome! Can we get Chris J or Paul to do a presumably heartfelt, but slightly creepy, outro over Silent Night a la Phil Spector?

Speaking of creepy Christmas songs, how about Johnny Cash's Little Drummer Boy? Or Hebjamn's favorite, Rockin Dopsie doing "Jangle" Bells. (If you haven't heard that one, please google it!)

This is a great idea. I am too broke to contribute anything now, but this takes care of a whole lotta Christmas gifts. My friends and relatives will get Holiday CDs, and have something tangible to remind them of my passion for New Orleans and it's music AND Threadhead Records!

heck yeah, that song is my favorite, but it lends itself well to creepy renditions... i'm lookin' at you, david bowie + bing crosby ;)

i was daydreaming earlier of the nightcrawlers doing a hyped up brass band version of TLDB complete with extended snare workout. mmm...

Or Hebjamn's favorite, Rockin Dopsie doing "Jangle" Bells. (If you haven't heard that one, please google it!)

hmm, that seems to only be available on an OOP compilation called "Creole Christmas". a new nugget of mystery!

Bryan, tell me you"re kidding! I love that version! Then again, I secretly wanted to BE David Bowie for my entire adolecence. But that pairing was brilliant, IMHO.

I'm not saying I don't love it too. One of my favorites! Agree also that the pairing was brilliant, but... I guess I usually only see the video, and I can't help but get the willies for some reason when I watch it... can't quite put my finger on it...

Hey, wanted to share with everyone an email from Susan Cowsill about an original song she'll compose for this CD:

Hey Paulie and Y'allie,
Count me in for a new Christmas song for the record. She showed up this morning around 7:45ish.. It is so awesome to be literally inspired to right a song. And the funny thing is, I have wanted to write a Christmas song all of my life and never could...till this morning. Thanks Threadheads for being a Lighthouse for our music, we follow you, we find our way.
peace,
susan

No, not really. I had to basically re-interview for my old job when they restructured. I'll be working for a new boss in a new group in the same location doing the same thing.
